Spend the day soaking up the lively atmosphere as you take it all in at your own pace. You'll begin with a comfortable coach ride through the Andalusian countryside and wind your way up high into the mountains where the town is perched. As you enter Ronda, you'll see decorations streaming from windows and criss-crossing the streets to welcome you. Celebrating Andalusian culture is at the heart of the festivities, so expect to see performances of traditional folk music and dance, as well as lots of dressing up in classic Spanish costumes. Feel free to join in and throw on a shawl or a Flamenco-style accessory to help feel a part of it all.The International Traditional Carriage Driving Competition of Ronda is a particularly special part of the festival. There's a procession of elegant horse-drawn carriages with coachmen dressed in classic Andalusian short jackets. It adds a real sense of ceremony to the day and will give you a glimpse into the Spain of old. In your free time, make sure you head to the New Bridge to admire the rugged beauty of El Tajo Gorge and, to experience the festival like a local, be sure to wander down the side streets to catch impromptu street performers doing their thing.
