Was zu erwarten ist
Zypern ist voller verborgener Schätze, und auf dieser Ganztagestour in das Troodos-Gebirge werden Sie einige der ländlichen Perlen entdecken. Sie fahren ins Landesinnere, besuchen das Lampadistis-Kloster in Kalopanayiotis und unterwegs warten einige angenehme Überraschungen in rustikalen Dörfern auf Sie. Nefeli, eine unserer ortskundigen Tourguides, sagt: "Arsos ist die Art von Dorf, in dem man alte Männer in den Cafés 'Tavli' - Backgammon - spielen sieht".Sie beginnen mit einem Besuch in Platanisteia, einem kleinen Dorf, das für sein Druckereimuseum berühmt ist. Nachdem Sie sich über die Geschichte der Druckindustrie auf der Insel informiert haben, besuchen Sie die mittelalterliche Tzelefos-Brücke - ein romantischer Fotospot mitten im Wald. Dann geht es weiter nach Kalopanayiotis. Das Dorf liegt in einem abgelegenen Tal, das von einem malerischen Bach durchquert wird. In einer traditionellen, familiengeführten Taverne wird Ihnen ein Mittagessen aus lokalen Zutaten serviert.Der Höhepunkt des Tages ist das Kloster Agios Ioannis Lampadistis im Dorf. Nefeli sagt: "Seine byzantinischen Fresken sind so exquisit, dass die UNESCO sie zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt hat". Die Wandmalereien, die bis ins 14. Jahrhundert zurückreichen, sind raffiniert und sehr gut erhalten. Die im Ausflugspreis inkludierten Eintrittsgelder für das Kloster kommen seinem Unterhalt zugute. Neben den drei Kirchen, die man besichtigen kann, gibt es auch Klostergebäude, darunter Zellen, Nebenräume und eine Ölpresse. Und bevor Sie sich auf den Rückweg machen, halten Sie für eine lokale Weinverkostung in einer typischen Weinkellerei des Troodos-Gebirges.

We enjoyed the whole trip. The guide and driver kept us well informed and safe. I liked the fact that it was a mini bus rather than a coach . Lunch was better than we expected and plenty of it. The only thing I would have liked wad a little longer after the wine tasting to browse purchase and use toilet facilities. Well worth the money .

Great
The villages, one to visit the printer, one for coffee were good. The lunch was excellent. The monastery quite interesting but there was only the church to see. There was no background to the monks and how they lived. We weren’t interested in the winery. The owner was amusing and it was a very generous tasting but after the monastery we’d have been happy to return to Paphos. Excellent driver.

The Guide was excellent (forgot name female age 63) as was the driver- very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions- enjoyed the stops which gave us a good opportunity to see local life and take photos

The tour was as advertised, it had many stops and visited places of interest. The guide André was very knowledgeable, the driver George was also excellent. The print museum the village with coffee stop, the beautiful church, the Cypriot lunch, the winery and tasting were all excellent, no changes required. The views and the scenery were also amazing. Thank you for an enjoyable and interesting day.

Enjoyed everything from start to finish, Chris, our guide was friendly, good fun and supremely knowledgeable about the history of Cyprus, the people, the flora and fauna and never missed pointing something out to us on out journey. Our driver Theo was exceptionally good and confident in what he was doing.

Great guide, excellent driver (very safe on the mountain roads. The scenery was fantastic. The stops at the printmaking studio, the monastery and the winery were all really interesting. A very enjoyable trip.

The room we paid extra for the ocean view we did not get as we was ground floor and behind the palm trees so that was very disappointing, also was not made aware of the welcome induction untill the wednesday of our stay, but the rest of the holiday was nice good food friendly staff

This was a superb trip that my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed. The scenery was spectacular and the Monastery was so peaceful. The interior of the church was absolutely beautiful. The day was full and varied and our knowledgeable guide helped us understand the Cypriot history, culture, geography and way of life so well. The meal was wonderful and the whole day was a highlight of our holiday. Would definitely recommend this trip.

Chris was an amazing guide who is very knowledgeable on very diverse topics, including history, culture, religion, wine, flora and fauna of Cyprus. He made the trip engaging, welcoming and entertaining. The wine tasting was delivered by a brilliant Romanian guy who expertly dispatched my preconceptions of such activities being pompous and made it accessible to all. We were driven through small mountain villages expertly by George. Definitely worth going for smaller tour to access these villages.

We enjoyed the chance to see another side of Cyprus up in the Troodos mountains. The village coffee shop was excellent. We could have spent hours listening to Hambis talking about his art work. The guide was great fun and also very informative especially at Lampidistris monastery. This trip was all the better for being in a small coach.

Loved the trip into the mountains and villages. Very informative guide. Stops on the way , we were able to experience places, we wouldn't have normally come across . Good stop for lunch, even provided a vegetarian option for my wife and I. Only criticism would be that it was way too warm inside the coach, to the extent, most people were dosing in between stops.

Our guide Chris was very informative and very willing to answer questions and involve the tour. The lunch in a local taverna was excellent. We learnt a lot about Cyprus and the Troodos Mountains. I would have liked to go to Troodos itself to visit the centre and hear about the hiking and wildlife. The wine tasting was a bit disappointing as we could not hear very well what the lady was saying and she was not very engaging.

Enjoyed the whole experience. Our lovely guide Eva was really informative and brought the history to life. George the driver managed the mountain roads with ease. I liked the fact it was a smaller group (small bus due to winding mountain roads). There is a lot crammed into this day. We enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it

long day to only visit 2 very small villages which were mainly derelict and deserted. No interesting buildings or local shops etc. The monastery / 3 churches in one was amazing. The food was adequate (mouldy olives served). wine tasting seemed rushed/short, but good. Guides excellent. Pricey at €120

Our wonderful guide, Chris, was such a passionate man who gave us lots of insightful knowledge about Cyprus itself, not just troodos mountains. Anything from geology to Greek mythology- he had it covered! The timing was well thought out and you never felt rushed. Great food and bonus winery tour!!

Enjoyable excursion. Good lunch. Nice small group. Excellent guide and driver ( Eva and George). Only criticism was that we had hoped to purchase some local craft type gifts but only place was the winery and you can’t take liquids in plane. They talked of marmalade but there wasn’t any for sale.

A lovely day out, visiting villages and churches. A wonderful lunch followed by a visit to a winery.
The tour leader (Lisa) was fantastic and the driver amazing. The only downside was that the wine tasting was very rushed and chaotic.

Compared to other tui trips I have taken, I found this one lacking. The guide, was very monotone and repeated things a lot, she had no enthusiasm when she was talking, rather like a recording. I think, we could have been shown more/different picturesque places. With more local wares to purchase
