Göcek is een typisch Turkse stad die bekend staat om zijn gezellige wekelijkse markt. Nadat je bij je hotel bent opgehaald, begin je aan de mooie rit naar Göcek. En onderweg vertelt je gids je meer over de stad. Bij aankomst krijg je een korte uitleg om je te oriënteren en dan heb je de tijd aan jezelf om over de bruisende markt te struinen. Je snuffelt rond bij kraampjes vol aromatische kruiden en talloze lokale producten. Ook snuif je de sfeer van deze Turkse stad op voordat je in de late namiddag terugkeert naar de basis.

Gocek is a lovely place to visit for a few hours and not too far from Serigerme where we were staying and the tour was nice and short. We passed through Gocek a couple of years ago for a boat tour and said that we would return one day. We didn't go to the market (i've been to Turkish markets before) and instead visited the shops and had breakfast on the seafront whilst watching all the expensive yachts. Although the tour is in German the guide would tell us in English any important points.

We booked the tour via the app and selected a language of English. This confirmed on voucher sent the day before the tour. When the coach arrived, the guide said 'You know this tour is in German only'. We said it had been booked in English and she said she was freelance and had been hired to deliver in German. She did speak English. Spoke to rep, who said there wasn't the demand for English. Very poor, sharp practice Tui. You totally failed to deliver the tour booked without pre warning.

Although the trip was good, a last minute change meant the tour was in German. As we were essentially using it as a ride to get to the market and Gocek this wasnt a huge issue but it would have been frustrating if we had wanted any commentary. Gocek is lovely and the market was ok, although a little small.
