The different stop off’s were good and not too long, which kept the day moving along well. The staff were informative and friendly, driver was good and drove safely. The food supplied was very tasty and enough, drinks both alcoholic and soft was plentiful. Good excursion.

This trip was worth going on as the guide was really knowledgeable and kept it interesting. We did spend a lot of time on the bus....but it was a fun bus, music, drinking and dancing! It was great to see the cathedral and learn about the history but I think the best was when we visited a locals home, they were very welcoming and it was very humbling. The voodoo show was to be honest, just a bit odd and didn't last very long. A couple of people dancing around a fire and walking on broken glass.

Very interesting day out, giving us the opportunity to see some of the Dominican countryside, tour of the Cathedral and Market was interesting. Cigar and coconut visit were also interesting, and there was no undue pressure to purchase anything. Lunch was very pleasant. Beach stop at the end of the day, not entirely sure if it’s worth it, 45 minutes wasn’t really time enough to change, swim and get dressed again. So we just settled for a drink in one of the beach bars.

Loved all the history and entertainment from tour guide mama Gina. She is really wonderful and versatile entertainer and speaks many languages. We got to understand the history of coffee, Coco and vanilla plants and making products from them.

Very entertaining and enjoyable tour guided by Daniel and his assistant Maria. Plenty of drinks throughout the day and the lunch was really tasty too. The driver, whose name I forgot unfortunately, is absolute legend. I highly recommend this experience if you're looking to get away from the boredom in the resort.

Great trip with a reasonable distance of travelling through a mix of countryside and towns to get a feel for the Dominican Republic. Driver and guide were knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. Half day trip did include the Basilica but did not include the beach, the market nor rice fields. The stops were of a suitable length and informative on local plantation and production methods. Its a long half day (c. 07:20-15:00) and very good value for money. Bus is fun (open sides and no a/c.)

We spent the first 2hours picking up guest from hotels far away from each other. Then when the tour started we spent a lot of time on highways getting from one hotel to another picking up and waiting for passengers! All the tours I’ve read about say one thing but you end up doing the same thing over and over e.g. cigar trying, chocolate tasting and making etc. what is advertise is not what you actually get!!! Disappointed!!! We went to the local mall and did the same ie cigar thing for free!!!!

It was mostly a great experience but we had no time to shop in the market maybe that could be looked at? And the beech at the end was not the best and we had no warning that if we wanted a sun lounger it would be 10 dollars maybe that could be said to the group before they got their. But the guides we fantastic.

Tour helps you to see what the Dominican Republic is really like. Visit to cigar factory, coconut oil factory, Higuey Cathedral and farm house. Interesting to hear about the island and see how people live. Use the toilets at the Cathedral or farmhouse. You were encouraged to buy things but they are cheaper than at the hotel. Countryside in the mountains was beautiful. Long day for a half day tour. Pick up 8.30 and drop off 2.30 but plenty of drinks on board. Great guide in Daniel. Great value.

Guide and his team made the day fun and educational. Exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm. 2 improvements that could be made: Food could be slightly better and there needs to be lights in the toilets and locks on the doors at the restaurant. But other than that very good service.

This was a long but enjoyable excursion which took us to numerous locations. Our daughter got to make a cigar and we got to see how many products are make with coconuts. The market was an eye opener ! PLENTY of Mamajuana on tap which then led to rum and Coke ! Johnathan one of our guides was very knowledgeable and seemed to know everyone! His input was very informative. The bus was a real plus, with instant aircon due to having no sides !! We would recommend

We had a great time from the off. Our guide Miguel and hostess Jennifer along with the bus driver were great fun and kept us informed, well catered with drinks and entertained for the entirety of the trip. Some of the stops are simply shopping trips but you're not pressured. We saw some great things and beautiful countryside. The trip to the local market was an eye opener but you had a taste of how locals really lived! Safe, fun and interactive and great value for money.

The tour guide went out of his way to ensure we all had a great time. Even got me some cane juice as i was expecting to have an opportunity to buy from the market and sugar xan fields ftom the Dominican people but it wasn't on the itinerary yet he made sure i tasted something. Please let the guides have more time to allow us to buy things from the Dominican people in future.

The overall trip was a good day out, however the pick up and drop off is far from ideal! Our pick up time was 7.10am from our hotel, a private transfer arrived after 8.15am with a non English speaking driver. We travelled for about 20-30 minutes and then dropped on a busy roadside (hard shoulder) and told bus be here soon. The tour bus collected us 5-10 minutes later. On the way back the same happened again dropped on hard shoulder of a very busy road and transferred to a private transfer.

We found this excursion to be the best day out we could’ve wished for. Daniel & Stephanie were amazing, full of knowledge and made the journeys between the stops super fun. It was inclusive to everyone & we would definitely do it again if we come back to DR! We loved seeing how chocolate is made and it was humbling to see traditional Dominican homes.

The tour gave a good view of the towns of the area. There were some planned stops with the usual shopping opportunities. Some of these did you like it was expected for a purchase to be made. The guide was a real character and passionate about the island. We did have a bus breakdown but an alternative was brought quite promptly and we looked after whilst this took place.

The bus. driver and guides were brilliant, some of the stops the Cathedral and market were great and the scenery spectacular. The beach stop was also great. What was not good was the lunch , very limited and just not nice and the plantation was poor. We have done a previous trip like this itinerary where the mountain restaurant and barbecue was delicious and the plantation with the coffee roasting demos and the guide of the plantation and homes was superb,

The whole day was amazing. Picked up right on time on the funky bus- a real head turner! The guides and driver were excellent, driving through 'real' Domician republic - the views and sights were amazing and the stop offs were very informative. Lunch was delicious. The rum and mamajuana was a very pleased addition!

The experience was very good however there didn't appear to be anything in the itinerary that said about taking swimwear and as we ended up a a beach for 45 minutes that would have been useful to know. In all honesty I don't think the beach was a necessary stop for this tour.

We had a great worthwhile 6hr trip from pick up to drop off for our half day excursion. The ride was actually very comfortable, much better than expected. Great atmosphere from our group, driver and tour guides. It was lovely to see some more of the real Dominican Republic outside of resort. We would definitely recommend the Eco Caribe half day tour.

I booked online and wanted the full day trip not half day but when the confirmation came back it said half day but excursion length was 8 hours which was confusing. Spent far too long sat on bus going from one place to another and then only short stops at each place -it was a bit boring. The tour guide Jonathan was great and very knowledgeable though

This tour was really good and definitely worth doing in my opinion! You visit a lot of places and a lot is crammed in but you learn a lot about DR as a country. I think our guides name was Daniel, he was so lovely and the journey was pleasant. You definitely get your moneys worth with the tour. You get to taste organic foods, cocoa, coffee, sugarcane, you get to try cigars in the factory. The lunch was nice. You learn and see a lot. You also get served drinks on the bus.

This excursion is excellent. We got to see real Dominican life and saw villages and fruit and cocoa and coffee plantation. Cigar and coconut production factories were also included. Also the Cathedral! Our guide Danny was excellent and so knowledgeable with free flowing Mama Juana and rum . This trip is a must.

Made to feel special all day. Got to see loads of different thing in a brilliant bus. Learned a lot about the area and cigars and other things the list goes on. The only down side for me was a walk through market and all the hens in cages waiting to be sold and the smell i wish i was warned and i would have stayed on bus.

This trip is amazing and I highly recommend that people do this as early on in to their stay as possible so you can see real life in the DR away from ‘resort life’. Really educational and the guides are so knowledgeable and fun. A very good day out overall!

The whole trip was fantastic Appart from the markets we generally thought it would be a normal market like clothes jewellery gifts ect but it wasn’t it was a food market with live and dead animals hanging up and there was all blood drained and seeping in the floors you walk on the smell was horrific,it was very traumatic too see and very upsetting too see pigs heads on shelves live chickens one side and the other all skinned thrown on the counter with numerous flys around we had to go single file and weave in and out of there for around 20 mins the men were all shouting things at us saying “white wow beautiful”and this was exceptionally uncomfortable as we were in a dark place and felt any one could snatch us and it felt very dangerous. It’s given us nightmares this experience and I would never go back to this market. The rest of the trip was great staff were fantastic

We all loved this tour! Pros: Interesting talk about island history, and local produce. Really tasty samples, and opportunity to buy (but not a hard sell at all). The cenote is lovely and refreshing, and we spent about 20 minutes swimming. The buggy drive is a decent length time, with a good chance to enjoy both the ride, and the countryside. Macao beach is beautiful. The cons: Bandanas are extra ($5 each) so take cash. Goggles are $20 each. We weren't given helmets, but didn't feel unsafe. The whole day feels a little rushed, you pack a lot in. So anyone with mobility issues (or even just a little unfit, to be honest) would struggle to keep up with the pace. The buggies frequently break down. We had two buggies in our party, and had 3 replacements between us. (But the replacements are handled very quickly so it's not a major issue and doesn't impact the fun.) There are a lot of salesmen at the beach... selling photos with parrots or iguanas: jewellery; hats, sarongs, etc. You get a little bombarded, but they're friendly and accept 'no thanks/gracias' without issue. Overall a fab day, loads of fun. Would recommend.

A very pleasant trip looking into several aspects of the Dominican life. The guide, his helper (Carmen) and the driver were all very friendly and helpful. The only real downside was that we took the trip on a Saturday, so could not visit a local school. The question therefore is why is the trip available when the school is not open?

I enjoyed travelling around in the beautifully decorated bus with the music going and drinks flowing, also the visit to the Basilica in Higuey, and walking around the market was interesting. I didn't enjoy the visit to the school, or being ripped off at the Arecife beach club where 2 beers cost around £12.50

Good atmosphere and friendly Staff. This was a 1/2 day excursion so were picked up at 7.15am and returned at 15.15. Rum and local alcoholic drink were given to us regularly even though I don’t drink! Perhaps some snacks could have been provided to go with the alcohol on the ‘fun bus’ 8 hours without any food was tough! Good day out

Excellent excursion. The 2 guides and the driver were all excellent. Funny, knowledgeable and looked after us well. We felt safe walking around the markets. We had plenty of water, soft drinks and alcohol if we wanted. Lunch was included and was very nice. The beach stop was nice at the end of the day but they wasn’t anyway to sit and relax as most of the chairs-loungers were reserved for the hotel that is on the beach front. We went as a big group of 18, from 25- 80 years old and we all loved it and would highly recommend it.
