La randonnée Referta levada est une promenade facile qui passe par une campagne luxuriante où se cachent des merveilles accessibles uniquement à pied. Vous passerez la matinée à suivre le chemin de levada de 5,5 km de Referta à Castelejo, en passant par des terrasses agricoles et des villages charmants.Si vous voulez savoir comment les locaux exploitent les terres de Madère, cette visite à pied vous donnera un aperçu du mode de vie agricole sur l'île. Vous vous joindrez à un guide expérimenté pour une promenade le long du Référa levada près des terrasses agricoles qui segmentent les collines pour cultiver des fruits et des légumes.Vous pourrez voir au loin les villages du nord-est et découvrir de plus près la flore et la faune de l'île. Welcoming & helpful guide and driver. Lovely views. Nice to be able to get a coffee and cake at end. Interesting information about the levadas, growing vegetables and wild flowers etc.

The pick up and drop off went as planned at the hotel. The driver drove safely. The guide was welcoming ,introduced herself and the driver. The walk was gentle, no steep rises. The views were good, especially of Eagle rock. The guide was knowledgable about the flora and history of the island. Answered all the questions asked. Interestingly most flora in Madeira is not native and introduced by settlers. Some invasive species need to be better controlled. The path needs maintenance in places.

Enjoyable walk through the Maderian countryside. Walk is very easy, with some lovely scenery. Guide provided interesting commentary on local plants, farming techniques and rural life. Walk was very busy with groups the day we went.

Enjoyable flat walk but very narrow in places and quite a drop to one side for people who don’t like heights. The tour was also done in both French & English which took a while

We had a lovely time. Except for the flight of stairs at the start of the walk it appeared flat and lived up to its description in the itinerary. Beautiful scenery and a lovely piece of banana cake waiting at the cafe at the end.

I did a few Lavada walks and they are value for money with top guides. The only thing I would say is be very aware of your physical capabilities, the description does say not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The pathways are uneven, narrow walkways sometimes, uphill sometimes albeit a very slight gradient, people coming from the opposite direction.

I liked that the guide told you enough to learn without dragging you down with information. I think particularly for the wetter season you emphasised more the need for waterproof clothing and walking boots / shoes

Our guide was very good and as the weather was very wet she had a supply of rain capes for those needing extra protection. She also lent walking poles which were very useful on the muddy paths. The pace was quite brisk but there were regular pauses to hear about the local vegetation, which I found very interesting. The coffee stop at the end was most welcome. I’m 74yr and found the distance about right. I feel that some didn’t find it challenging enough but it is good that some half day walks are available for those less fit/ energetic.

Picked up on time by mini bud. Lovely guide who periodically stopped to show us plants and trees along the way. Great views of the east side of Madeira. Went to a village cafe at the end and had freshly made poncha - yum! Good value for money and thoroughly recommend.

After an anxious 20 minute wait for the pickup, which could have been made from the hotel not an allocated pick up point everything went smoothly. Our guide absolutely excellent. And the walk was enjoyable, informative and memorable. High recommend.
