The knockout natural beauty of eastern Madeira is in the spotlight on this full day tour. You'll have your head in the clouds at Pico do Areeiro, walk next to cute, thatched houses in Santana, have lunch at Quinta do Furão and step back in time at Ponta de São Lourenço. Joana, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The lunch spot is a real treat, sitting on top of the cliffs overlooking the dramatic coast of northern Madeira. Take some time to stroll in the gardens and vineyards, it's a special place.'You'll first be whisked up above the clouds to the towering Pico do Areeiro lookout point – offering amazing views from 1,810m above sea level. Next, we'll head for the mountainside gem of Santana, a village that's home to the distinctive straw-thatched houses famous throughout Madeira. Cute and colourful, these triangular homes look like something out of a fairytale. We'll have lunch here before being whisked off for more adventures.On a visit to a traditional sugar cane processing mill in Porto da Cruz, you'll find out about an industry that has long been a mainstay of Madeira's economy. Joana says, ‘One of the most important crops on the island is sugarcane, and today the processing factory is still in full operation mainly producing rum and honey molasses as it has since 1927. We'll try some of their rum as part of our visit.' The final stop will lead you to Ponta de São Lourenço, one of the wildest places in Madeira, right on its easternmost point of the island.

The driver/guide although told us it was his 5th time driving the vehicle for TUI tourists he was so familiar to the place and took us around the places without any issues. He was very friendly to us which made our trip very pleasant.

Die Reiseleiterin vermittelte das Gefühl, dass sie Touristen eigentlich nicht so gerne hat, denn Job aber macht, da sie das Geld dafür gerne verdient. Die Mittagspause mit knapp zwei Stunden war leider viel zu lange, da dort nichts gewesen ist, was man sich nach dem Essen noch hätte anschauen können. Die Mitarbeiter beim Mittagessen waren leider nicht so wirklich hinterher, was die Getränke anging. Man musste sehr lange auf neue Getränke warten.

het was en is een zaligheid om een gids mee te hebben die opkomt voor zijn gasten vanaf opstap tot aan het hotel die zeer veel kennis heeft en dit heel de tijd op een zeer aangename manier deelt het is ook een pluspunt dat de gids onafhankeld is van TUI dus voor zijn gasten zorg draagt een super dank U aan Geert hij zorgt dat de bus steeds de beste plaatsen heeft en doet meer dan gevraagd maar is steeds aanwezig zonder aanwezig te zijn ook zijn eerlijkheid je ziet enorm toffe plaatsen mocht

Notre chauffeur et guide était génial Nous a commenté notre excursion pendant les trajets et aux arrêts. Très patient aimable et courtois. Des arrêts non prévus pour nous expliquer la flore et les coutumes de madère .Le déjeuner à Santana un repas élaboré dans un cadre merveilleux. Nous sommes ravis de la découverte de l Est de l’île paysage à couper le souffle….

Je ziet heel veel in korte tijd. Wij vonden het alleen jammer dat je bijna overal maar 30 minuten had, dus na een toiletbezoek met een rij van andere toeristen snel overal kijken, foto's maken en hup de bus weer in. Het was niet ontspannen. Wel lekker gegeten en echt mooie dingen gezien.

Really good balance to the tour, varied landscape, weather and vistas. Great guide and driver and a good pace to the tour with plenty of chance to get off the bus and explore a bit. Criticism? . .. just too much food at the lunch stop.

Gids was zeer gedreven en heel goed op de hoogte van de fauna en flora op Madeira. De uitleg door de TUI-medewerker op de vergadering op de eerste dag na aankomst duurde te lang. De voorgestelde optionele uitstappen kwamen niet volledig overeen met de door Thema Travel vooraf voorgestelde optionele uitstappen wat voor verwarring en vertraging zorgde.

Voordat je aan de tour begint ben je 1,5 uur onderweg om iedereen op te pikken, geldt ook voor de terugreis, dus je bent uren kwijt, hetgeen ook betekent dat je korte ogenblikken de bus kunt verlaten voor het maken van foto's. Volle bus, geen beenruimte. Geen tijd voor koffie 's-morgens. De lunch in een grote partytent, waar nog een aantal bussen/passagiers hun opwachting maakten, een goede excursie onwaardig. Zeer eenvoudig buffet met lange rijen. Reisleidster was prima, evenals chauffeur.

Ophalen aan de verschillende hotels nam volledig uur in beslag. Groep van 49personen, echt te groot ook veel te veel uitleg van Geert de reisleider. Pieco di Ariero was goed en ook schiereiland São Lourenço was leuk. Santana niet authentiek meer. Lunch op domein en daar rondwandelen genoten we van.

mooie excursie prachtige locaties van Madeira gezien, gids gaf goede uitleg en heeft veel kennis van fauna en flora, maar als je iets vroeg kreeg je gewoon een ja of een nee en geen deftig antwoord op je vraag, in de bus zei hij ongepaste dingen die klantonvriendelijk waren, zijn praten was zeer irritant met de nadruk op op bepaalde woorddelen beetje al zingend, toen we het hierover hadden met andere medereizigers hadden zij net dezelfde frustraties

Je krijgt veel te zien, met veel uitleg in het Nederlands. Verschillende stops op mooie locaties, maar weinig tijd om foto’s te nemen, en te weinig tijd om souveniertje te kopen. ‘s middags stop met lekkere lunch. Verwacht dat we veel bloemen zouden zien maar dat was niet het geval ??
