What to expect
Feel the towering might of Westminster Abbey's Gothic walls and bathe in the light of its stained-glass windows.Your self-guided visit lets the ornate building speak for itself, where monarchs have been buried, crowned, and where Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011. Sights include Poet's Corner, the resting place of Geoffrey Chaucer and Charles Dickens, the infamous Coronation Chair upon which every monarch since 1308 has been crowned and memorial stones and busts of William Shakespeare and Robert Burns.

Know in advance:
the Abbey offers free handheld audio guides for your visit, available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Hungarian, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese
Westminster Abbey is a fully working church and subject to closures at short notice. Please check the opening times prior to travel
a security search exists on entry for all visitors. As such, queues to enter the Abbey may be longer during peak season, especially in the months of July and August
there are no audio guides available on Wednesdays from 4:30pm onwards

We had a great time it was very busy but the volume of people moved at a steady pace. Although we have seen the inside of the abbey many times it was the first time we’ve been inside. We had no idea how big it was and so much to see We had a great time

It’s my first visiting Westminster Abby, it was exciting, enlightening and educational. I have never seen something like this before, the vast history and enshrined bodies with their stories. I will definitely go back when I have the opportunity. Love it!

Vale mucho la pena la visita pero había demasiada gente por lo que era un poco agobiante. Una iglesia debe ser una visita más serena y parecía un parque de atracciones pero el lugar es imprescindible y la gente que trabaja allí muy amable, profesional y con mucha paciencia.

Leider mussten wir trotz der Vorbuchung eine 3/4 h anstehen : das ist doch lästig ! In der Westminster Abbey bekamen wir dann händisch die eigentlichen Tickets , und mussten nochmals für den Audioguide in die Schlange . Der Audioguide war viel zu allgemein und unübersichtlich. Die Abbey war viel zu voll . Keinerlei Kirchen - eher Bahnhofsatmosphäre, schade . Bitte nehmen Sie diesen örtlichen Reiseveranstalter raus : hatten wir das gewusst , dann hätten wir sofort auf der Website gebucht .

La réservation sur internet se fait facilement. Le seul point noir est que nous attendons plus longtemps que les billets pris sur place pour entrer dans l’Abbaye. Malgré tout, cela reste une très bonne expérience.

Leuke ervaring. Buiten even in de rij wachten tot je naar binnen kan. Eenmaal binnen kun je op eigen tempo via audiogids alles belopen. De audiogids bevat een schermpje waarop je filmpjes kan volgen, er wordt verteld wat je ziet en informatie daarover. Dit met jonge kinderen gedaan, superleuk!

The audio was very thorough and informative. It says that it will take an hour and five minutes, but I think that actually it takes quite a bit longer than that if you really stop to see everything that you offer. Absolutely gorgeous cathedral and it was my favorite place in London!

Very enjoyable experience. The only thing negative was that the handsets were a waste of time. We has to stop and reset them for every locations, which if its not busy would have been OK, but we had to kerp moving with the crowd. This was a Monday morning the first day if spring. I hate to think what it would be like in the summer season.

Wir fanden die Westminster Abbey sehr schön und auch die Geschichte dieser war sehr interessant. Mit dem Audio Guide erfährt man sehr viel über die Vorgeschichte der Westminster Abbey. Wir würden die Tour wieder machen.
