What to expect
An underwater adventure – in two very different settings. This half-day tour ventures into the heart of the Yucatan jungle and the reefs of the Caribbean for contrasting experiences. You'll swim in the mystical surroundings of a cenote and snorkel with turtles in a protected bay. Kick off by heading inland to a sacred cenote. Here, you'll get to swim in one of the most beautiful cenotes in the region. This underground pool opens up to reveal a cavern of stalactites and stalagmites, where you can swim in cool, fresh water. It's easy to see why these natural cathedrals were so revered by the ancient Maya.We'll then travel to Akumal Bay to spot turtles near the protected reef. Three species call this bay home – green, hawksbill and loggerhead. You'll be joined by an expert guide and a small group of snorkellers – a maximum of 16 – so that you can make the most of this experience. There'll also be time to explore the reef even further, admiring fish and rainbow-coloured coral, before returning to your hotel in the early afternoon.

We were very luck to see several turtles but the majority of groups apparently see 3-4. We arrived early in the morning slightly ahead of the crowds that later turned up. Angie, our guide, shared her knowledge and experience in working with turtles and the local environment/ecosystem throughout the tour and really treated us like VIPs, taking the time to get to know all of us in our small group. We had as much time as we wanted with the turtles and also at the cenotes. It was a fantastic morning

apart from being 30 minutes late for pick up due to traffic the tour was amazing staff were very friendly and informative. the cenotes were beautiful and interesting and the swimming with the animals/fish was amazing but also having staff who cared about the animals and made sure they were not stressed or disturbed and left with enough space to move was the biggest positive for us

Melissa was such a friendly, funny and knowledgeable guide. Loves the cenotes and seeing the fossils and wildlife in them. Each cenote was different from the last. The turtle part was amazing buy dies come with the added challenge of avoiding bumping into other tourists as you have to keep you legs up in the water so you don't come into contact with the turtles and rays so make sure you're a confident swimmer. But it is well worth it to see such a beautiful creatures

Magical experience seeing the Turtles in their own habitat. There were a lot of snorkellers though so was quite difficult to keep to the correct group. The Cenote was a once in a lifetime experience but the facilities were poor for changing and toilets were very basic. Take insect repellent for the Cenote as its in the jungle. Saw some beautiful large blue butterflies and a large Iguana. Definitely recommend if you don't mind roughing it a bit.

Take a drink it’s an hour and half drive, some passengers had been on the busy an hour already! The photos do cost at the end but was reasonable at $70 for the package, the dolphin swim and cenotes are amazing,

amazing experience all around, our tour guide Eddie was funny and gave us lots of interesting information about the sea turtles and cenote’s. The trip was the perfect amount of time and you got around 30 minutes in each cave before moving onto next location for sea turtles. The swim for the sea turtles was around 30-40mins long and the equipment they provided was excellent. would do again

Enjoyed choice of cenote park and seeing turtles amazing but didn’t seem to around them along after swimming out It was over 2 hours in mini bus picking up people which I wasn’t expecting so desperate for loo by time we got to Cenote stop which was hard with my elderly bladder!! especially down the long bumpy dirt track to Cenote park.

Debbie our tour guide was incredibly friendly and approachable. Swimming with the turtles was awesome as was swimming in the cenotes. I would advise to take some swim shoes as the cenote is a bit rocky. Being that close to the turtles was an incredible experience and the ‘rules’ to protect the turtles were well advised.

Matthew was our guide and he was brilliant, so knowledgeable. The group had people from different countries but he made sure everyone felt included by speaking their language and made an effort to get know everyone. The whole experience of seeing the sea turtles and swimming in the cenote was amazing. What we didn’t like was the slightly pushy guide who seemed very focused on getting you to buy the photos and videos that he took of the group. He even arranged for the bus to stop at a petrol station so he could take a young lad in to get money from a cashpoint which I thought was not on. Also didn’t like how uncomfortable it was after he pressed people to leave a tip.

The tour guide was fantastic - Cenote experience was great, very enjoyable. Turtle swim was just too busy and short. Too many people in one area. Everyone was just swimming on top of each other. We actually ended up just trying to stay out of the way of everyone else and even my daughter who is an experience swimmer and competent in snorkeling felt really panicked by the whole situation.

Swimming with the Turtles was great but incredibly busy and seemed very short. Swimming in the cenote was very relaxing, quieter and we had 45 minutes in there. Most of the day seemed to be spent travelling. This is definitely not a half day trip. We left our hotel at 6.25 and didn’t arrive back until 16.00. The only food supplied was mini pizzas and muffins and 2 small bottles of water each with no opportunity to buy food anywhere we went.

Overall a good experience. Started by swimming with the turtles, which both myself and my partner were extremely excited for. However, when we arrived at the beach it was evident that the water was very busy with other groups. This did become a bit of an issue as at times it was impossible to move away from anyone as you were completely surrounded by 50 people looking at one turtle :( Surprisingly, the cenote swim was our favourite part! We had a lovely guide called Maria who made the trip great

The day out was fantastic from start to finish, we started with the swimming at Akumal Bay where Gonzo ensured we knew the rules and what to expect when in the ocean. The turtles are in their own habitat, though there are ropes to show where you will swim, taking roughly 1.5 hours to do the loop. This was followed by a few snacks and water on route to the cenotes for the remaining part. Gonzo was a brilliant guide throughout the day, would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about it.

Fantastic excursion and excellent value for money . Was a half day but were collected from our hotel on time by Alessandro in a spotless mini bus and were not dropped off again till after 3 pm . Our Guide Gonza was fantastic , spoke excellent English and just wanted the group to have the best experience . The Cenote was amazing if not the water a little refreshing . The Turtles were what dreams are made of .We saw at least 8 large turtles . You dont have to be a strong swimmer to enjoy this .

Oscar was really good and informative. Cenote was good but turtle swimming wasn't great, too many people around, quite shallow so sea bed was churning up, could hardly see turtles. Didn't realise turtles were in an enclosure in the sea so not 100% in their natural habitat.

The transit van we travelled in was very cramped and poor air conditioning. The guide Oliver was excellent very informative and knowledgeable. The turtle experience was disappointing we only saw 3 while we were snorkeling. There was a lot of swimming necessary, you were asked if you were a good swimmer but actually felt rushed. The masks didn't fit properly so kept taking in water. The cenote was good but the journey off reading to it was very uncomfortable.

The tour overall was great. But in the first leg of the tour we were asked to test our snorkels at the Cenote, mine didn't fit correctly it was too small for my head. I said as much but then were no spares so a pointless exercise to text them. It meant I didn't get to use a snorkel when at Akumal beach to properly see the turtles, as clear as the rest of the group.

Very enjoyable experience. It was a bit pricey, but then everything is these days... My only gripe is that because we were first to be collected and last to be dropped off, we had an extra 3 hours in the minibus, so the trip took 7 hours rather than 4.

The trip was very well organised and Sophia was an excellent guide! Snorkelling with the turtles was everything I had hoped, they swim so close to you when they come up for air and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The cenote swim after was also incredible, it was our 2nd visit to a cenote during our holiday, but this cenote was definitely a completely different experience to the first - well worth a visit!

Pick-ups were all on time and we were offered water & small snacks for the short journey. Maria was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable & celery passionate about conservation. Life jackets were provided. The cenote was great, worth mentioning we were in the water for approx 45 minutes (which is very cold!) We saw baby turtles in the cenote which was a great surprise! The snorkelling was fantastic we saw multiple large turtles, sting rays & star fish. Would definitely recommend.

Good: small group, no boat required - walk out from beach, saw lots of turtles, good snorkelling equipment, cenote was beautiful all lit up so you can see the fish and cave better. Guides were friendly and kept us together in the sea. Not so good: being told by guide reef safe sun cream is dangerous to turtles (told wash it off!) and you don’t need sun cream underwater. I double checked - reef safe is safe for turtles and you absolutely will get sun burnt snorkelling on the water surface.

The guide Dori was amazing. She gave us lots of info and the experience of swimming with turtles was amazing . We managed to see 4 and a starfish . The cenote was different in character to one we had previously been to and was definitely in the jungle. Overall a great trip to do . I would certainly recommend it .

The turtles are amazing. Despite some reviews, you don't have to swim a lot, average fitness is enough. The cenote snorkelling was an absolutely unique experience. Don't miss it. If you have underwater torch, take it with you.

The cenote was amazing and the swim through was amazing. The swimming with turtles and snorkelling was also amazing where we saw all kinds of marine creatures. From turtles, to stingray, starfish, loads of fish; fantastic! Our son was also kept safe and secure. Our guide was called Lore/Lori. She was incredible and made the experience brilliant for us. We applied biodegradable suncream & insect repellant before we came and it worked perfectly. We saw so many turtles and they come so close to you, it’s amazing!! The beach views are also beautiful. Then it’s a short bus ride after the turtles to the cenote which was also really fun! It’s super cold but worth it! They provided us with water and a small snack too! A great trip overall :)

The cenote was stunning and our guide Saul was absolutely brilliant. He was nice and smiley and friendly. His English was excellent and was lovely and calm. The guide was superb really helpful,friendly and informative Safety of the group was excellent and in the sea doing the snorkling there were two other people including the guide looking after your wellbeing and they also pointed out items of inteterest. There was also children in the group so dont think this is adults only because it is not. I would highly recommend this trip it was amazing to be this close to turtles and stingrays so if you get the chance do it and the cenote was great too.

Suggested items to bring along are, beach shoes for the cenote as in some areas there are jagged rock areas. Ensure you have insect spray for the cenote visit as you are within a forest area!

Excellent trip. We saw several turtles and a Manta ray! Well planned and very informative guide. I also enjoyed the swim in the Cenote. I would recommend this trip but only to good swimmers who have some snorkelling experience.

Elienne, our guide, was fantastic. We had an amazing experience. We were so lucky to see turtles, stingrays and starfish and the cenote was magical. I would thoroughly recommend this trip.

Our guide was absolutely amazing ! Very factual kept us informed on what was going on and was very knowledgeable about the cenoté and the wildlife we was going to encounter , was a once in a life time experience and would highly recommend to anyone going to Mexico !

Dorian the guide was excellent. We went as a family of 5 with our children being 6,6 & 7. Whilst swimming with the sea turtles each guide took a child in a bouy ensuring they and we had the best experience ever. The cenotes were such a magical experience too.

The snorkel masks are painful and our 10 year old struggled. we got eaten eaten alive near cenote- wish were told to bring insect repellent.

Water wasn't very clear so sometimes difficult to spot the turtles however the guide was great at pointing them out to ensure you got to see them.

Guide was excellent. There is no guarantee that you will see turtles, the water can be a bit murky, we saw 3 turtles during our swim and managed to film so for us an excellent morning. Swimming in the cenote was interesting and fun.
