Guided tour of the Patios de Córdoba

Admire the “patios” of Córdoba, declared a World Heritage in 2012! The tradition of the patios is linked with the Roman and Muslim culture: from these times, the courtyard was one of the most important spaces of the houses because it had different functions, such as to cool the different rooms due to the high temperatures of Córdoba. These little gardens, nowadays a typical element of the houses of Córdoba, are the reason of the “Festival de los Patios” (the festivity of the patios) of Córdoba, that is celebrated from 1921 during the first fifteen days of May giving the opportunity to all visitors to discover its history, tradition and beauty.This tour will take you to visit six beautiful patios located in one of the loveliest neighborhoods called San Basilio. During the 2 hour tour the guides will tell about the origin, the architecture, the plants and the history of these courtyards.
