What to expect
There are few better ways to explore the waters off Varadero than this luxury catamaran cruise. This full day jaunt includes free time and lunch on a tropical beach on Cayo Blanco. And to top it off, you'll jump in for a 15-minute encounter with dolphins, too.After setting sail from Varadero Marina, relax aboard en route to your first stop, Rancho Cangrejo – a platform in the middle of the sea. Then, head to tiny Cayo Blanco. This place has a real desert island feel – all powder-like sands, swaying palms and turquoise waters. Drop anchor and hit the beach for a tasty lunch served fresh.Once refuelled, roll out a towel on the beach or take a dip in the warm ocean. Snorkelling off the beach is also recommended – the waters here are teeming with tropical fish. You'll round off the day with a short dolphin encounter. You'll head to an offshore pontoon where dolphins from a nearby dolphinarium are kept for a chance to learn and interact with these clever aquatic mammals.

I've relooked at the descriptions to see if I misunderstood, but the platform stop is mentioned first and the dolphins last, I never realised this would be captive dolphins at the platform? I thought we would just be sailing near by and hopefully see them in the wild, Plus we were quickly herded onto slippery steps and an even slipperier platform. The boat staff were friendly and helpful but no safety demo ,if it sank I don't know where the life jackets were . Boat staff friendly, rest so so

The experience was really well organised, the staff got everyone up dancing, the dolphins were amazing! Cayo beach was beautiful and had a real tropical feel to it. Lobster was fantastic. Downside we saw them throw a black bin bag full of plastic bottles and cups overboard!!!

Friendly staff , good food and drinks . Kids loved dolphin experience. It was very busy at cayo blanco , we had to queue for our lunch but the beach and sea were beautiful. Only thing we didn’t enjoy was going through a storm on our way out there.

Short 20mins from varadero to a Catamaran for 60ish people. find a seat. intro from a great guide 'chokolada' got everyone awake - not much info on what was happening though. usual music and free drinks. travelled for 90 mins to a place to stand in the water and experience dolphins up close. a stop for a swim/snorkel with fish, dropped on a large beach island to have some inclusive food then a trip back. overall a good experience and good value - and probably exactly what you'd expect.

This trip is an enjoyable mix of snorkelling, food, bar, music/dancing and dolphin experience. However, there was no safety briefing whatsoever, not even a mention of where lifejackets could be found. Also, at no point was it made clear in the advertising/booking process that the dolphin encounter would be with captive dolphins- very upsetting for a number of participants to find ourselves at a concrete enclosure and not open water. Finally, there was only limited fish around the snorkel site

Fantastic trip, age range was young children to 60+ and everyone was involved , snorkeling, stroking and swimming with the dolphins, etc. Crew of the Cetus ensured everyone had a brilliant time, best excursion we've ever been on.

The staff were amazing, kept us informed of what was happening regularly, friendly and fun. The only minor fault was that there wasn't much choice of food beyond seafood options and as I'm allergic to seafood this area was a little lacking. On the whole it was an amazing day

The dolphin experiance was fantastic best thing I ever did and if you have a word with the guides that train the dolphins you can swim with them too .. this is not inc with payment for trip and cost around 10 euros paid to guide!! Always take money with you on excursions whilst in cuba as tips are included

The boat was great and plenty of shade to sit in. Friendly staff and good service. The boat was a party from start to finish so if you are looking for a relaxing boat trip this is not for you. It is a very long day picking up and dropping off at a number of hotels along the strip. The dolphins are in large outdoor pools but instead of allowing us to go in the the pool we had to stand on the side, still a good experience but not what I thought it would be.

The dolphin experience was awful, the conditions they were kept in were awful and cruel. Please stop this part of the tour, the way it is advertised is misleading. The compound was terrible, had I known I would not have booked it. The rest of the tour was great.

Excursion itself was brilliant, however the list of things to take was not clear and comprehensive and it would have been good to have information on how long excursion was. 4-8 hours isn’t exactly clear especially when you know where I am staying.

The staff showed a bias to Spanish speakers. We were sold this as a 15 min dolphin encounter. So we bought it for our 11 year old son. We were the first group of around 40 rushed into the water for a quick encounter. Every subsequent group (of none-English speakers) got the chance to have a much longer swim and experience. When we saw what was happening, we asked why our son wasn’t given the chance, but the boat was returning and we were ‘out of time’. They cared more about securing a bit tip.

The best trip we have ever been on. It was a party atmosphere from start to finish and the staff made us feel so safe. I loved the fact that they closed the bar while we were in the sea swimming/snorkelling so that they could keep an eye on us. It was my husbands 50th birthday and the staff got everyone to sing happy birthday to him and did some silly dances which he loved. The meal stop was the best food we had on the holiday. Just amazing

Staff very good and interactive, but unfortunately we were unlucky with some customers on the catamaran who seen it as a nightclub and acted quite inappropriate at times, snorkelling was ok but much better with safari tour where you have coral reefs, Cayo blancos was beautiful with a lovely buffet but if not for the dolphin experience which was amazing! (Be aware they are in captivity, didn’t know this when booked through TUI app prior to holiday) I would not do this trip again

Great food, great boat crew, dolphin bit good, snorkeling a little rough water but that can't be controlled ?? recommended day trip. Just make sure you take sun lotion for after dolphins as easy to burn snorkeling or on the beach after lunch. One last thing if you like early 90's music you'll enjoy the music on the boat!! ??

Fantastic tour - highly recommended. The catamaran crew were great and the snorkelling good fun. The food was OK on the island and seeing the iguanas was great. The dolphin experience felt a bit rushed, and I personally would prefer to see the dolphins swim more and spend less time posing for photos.

Wycieczka nie warta swoich pieniedzy. Pierwsza rzecz, jesli chodzi o delfiny: mozna je dotykac, ale nie mozna z nimi plywac, jesli chcesz poplywac musisz zaplacic dodatkowo okolo €15 „napiwku”. Kolejna sprawa to snorkelling, trwa on moze 10 min, wciagalo nas pod katamaran, mielismy pokaleczone cale nogi. Jesli chodzi o sama wyspe to równiez nic specjalnego, lunch który jest zapewniony na wyspie bazuje na owocach morza, wiec jesli ich nie lubisz, to bedziesz glodny. Nie polecamy.

The overall experience was excellent and I would have scored 10 out of 10, but I was very disappointed with the snorkeling as it was very choppy water and there were hardly any fish to see. The rest of the day was excellent though and the crew of the catamaran were all very friendly and entertaining. The dolphin experience was memorable too.

Booked via Tui prior to our trip & advice printed voucher, guide wouldn't accept & created a very upsetting experience, could not ho on the trip with friends and ticket accepted the following day with a different guide. When we did get on this excursion it was amazing and a fabulous day was had by all. Dolphins we're beautiful

Enjoyed the trip didn't realise swimming with dolphins meant with captive dolphins on their back would if rather just got into the water znd swim with them around even better in the sea. Also would of been nice to have the bbq food cooked in front of us. The crew was fantastic really brought us all together dancing and singing on the sea. Enjoyed and would recommend without the dolphin part.

I thought that the trip to Havana was way too long. The guide was very knowledgable, but I really felt intimidated by all the beggars. The Catamaran trip with the dolphins was absolutely amazing, the crew were fantastic. They even sang happy birthday to me for my 60th.

I didn’t like the fact that the dolphins were stuck in tanks….. how you advertise it looks like they’re in the sea and that’s what I was expecting. It broke my heart seeing them in there and I won’t do the dolphin tour ever again! You should respect the animals more !

The full experience was well organized, we felt at ease and enjoy the day thoroughly. The highlight being the encounter with the dolphins, the trainer explained the process and made us all part of it. The setting is nice, in the middle of the ocean with fishes swimming around you. Would definitely recommend that activity to anybody.

One of the best days out you will ever have. Granted,we were so lucky with the weather. Our guide was awesome,the water was calm,the food on the island was very good and we were all made to feel like 1 big family. Our host called himself “Chocolatte” and our boat-Aries and the captain were awesome. The dolphin experience was incredible.

Only issue for me was the restaurant at Cayo Blanco - everything else was excellent. At CB, there were giant rats (the size of badgers) freely roaming the restaurant, and no evidence of staff trying to get rid of them or discourage idiotic customers from feeding them or the other wildlife. The rats were quite scary and really gave cause for concern about the restaurant hygiene, and generally put me off my food
