Enjoy a guided culinary tour in Lucca, located inland in the region of Tuscany. The city is characterised by a labyrinth of narrow streets that all converge towards the main city attractions. The local cuisine is typically of Tuscan origin and complemented by locally prodcued wine.

Here's a list of dishes you may try during your tour:

  • Cecina: A dish as poor as it is tasty: water, chickpea flour, oil and salt, an authentic local institution.
  • Focaccia/Pizza: Gourmet slice of pizza with local and fresh ingredients.
  • Tordelli: Fresh pasta filled with beef and pork, bread softened in broth, parmesan cheese, eggs, and herbs.
  • Garmugia: A spring soup of ancient tradition in the cuisine of Lucca, with onions, peas, artichokes, asparagus, fresh broad beans, meat and beef broth, bacon, oil. It is served with toasted homemade bread croutons.
  • Pappa al Pomodoro (tomato soup): A common people's dish, it is prepared with stale Tuscan bread, peeled tomatoes, garlic, basil and plenty of extra virgin olive oil, it was originally made as a dish to recover leftover bread.
  • Ribollita: Warm and hearty first course, it is a soup of stale bread and vegetables.
  • Buccellato: A humble cake made with poor and simple ingredients: it has a shiny and golden crust that encloses a compact and soft interior rich in sultanas and aniseed seeds.
