Some of Nijmegen’s best bits are in the spotlight during this walking tour of the city. From the port, you’ll saunter to the old quarter, 20 minutes away. Next, you’ll make tracks towards Valkhof Park. Centuries ago, this big public garden was used as a camp by the Roman Army. On the way, you’ll stroll along Lange Hezelstraat, the oldest shopping street in the Netherlands, and pass the 800-year-old Saint Stephen’s Church. This temple’s fitted with an organ from the 18th century. Plus, you’ll stop by the birthplace of the Limbourgh Brothers, a family of 15th century artists who specialised in Gothic paintings.
