At no time prior was it advised the Palace was 5km from the River Cruise ship. We were advised of this the evening prior, either a £120 taxi, each way, or 2 changes on an inknown Metro system. Start time 10.15. No way to contact Guide to let her know we were not coming. She checked up on us around 11am and advised we could join the 3pm which I accepted. Issues with ship manoeuvre meant we could not disembark for an hour. Too late. The guide then advised 3.45 entry after all so could have made

Shared a cab from the boat with another couple as quite a way from the mooring. Amazing Palace tour with excellent Austrian tour guide who had a very clear strong voice. Unfortunately didn’t see much of the gardens due to a concert being held there that evening. Very busy inside with lots of groups going round but we’ll worth it to see the beautiful interiors. You could spend the whole day there but we were going on to see the Habsburg crypt in the afternoon so couldn’t.Would definitely go back.

The tour was cancelled the day before. The email went into my Spam folder so I did not see it. We turned up for the tour and hung around looking for the guide. After then finding the email we had to purchase a new ticket for the palace without a guide and had a reduced amount of time at the venue. This was purchased as a River Cruise trip so we had to be back at our ship

Lisa was a great guide with a good sense of humour. When booking we missed the fact that this was an unsupported tour and there would be no transfer from the ship. As 1st time river cruisers we expected all tours to include transfers. There are warnings on the booking site but this distinction was before booking multiple tours. There perhaps needs to be clarification on each booking. We know this now but it did come as a surprise. All sorted with by sharing an uber with another couple.

Unable to get to the tour meeting point at the time required due to transport delays. So never made the experience. It should be made clear that in order to get to the 10:30 tour you will have to arrange a taxi as the Hop-On Hop-Off bus doesn't start running from the ship berth until 09:50hrs and it takes 2 hours from the berth to the palace.

River Cruise Tour was advertised as a ‘pick up’ from the Ship with skip the line -booked on TUI App first day of cruise as limited mobility due to my Cancer. -checking pick up time trip was not available. Find own way! skip the line ticket advised a 3 hour waits not true 10 minutes. Line Wait Oversold. Another couple with disability experienced exactly same misleading info. There no priority for us from self guided visitors, pushing our way around. Tour Guide monotone descriptions were poor.

This place was far too overcrowded, when I mentioned it to the guide she told us it's like this every day of the year and described it as Vienna's 'cash cow.' transport wasn't included with this tour which could explain why we didn't see anyone else off the Skyla, we ended up having to get a taxi which added a lot to the expense.

We felt that we should have been advised prior to booking that it was a long way from the ship and we did not feel confident in getting metro tickets in a totally unfamiliar city. Taxi would have cost 75 euros each way and the timing was quite literally right after breakfast.

The meeting instructions were not very clear as the water fountain was blocked off by Easter fayre cabins and there were dozens of green umbrellas, however, we did find our guide. Ali was a brilliant guide. She managed the multinational group superbly, was very well organised and knew her subjectin inside out. One of the best guides we've ever had. We fully recommend this tour.

Aanwijzing begin plek heel duidelijk aangegeven. Groene paraplu viel zeker op. Fijne uitleg met de gids met de handige audio oortjes. Goed verstaanbaar en geluid niet te hard. Prachtig gebouw en zeker de moeite waard.

Whilst billed as such this was no Palace of Versailles. I guess once you have seen the original this copy fell a bit short of expectations. There were not many rooms open, many that were were rather small for the numbers of visitors. With big groups (ours of 30) basically just blocking the way as guides competed for best spots. The gardens are now just a public park so were extremely crowded as free to enter with planting was sparse/bland. Go to the Wurzburg residence, much more impressive.

The guide was very knowledgeable and informative and the tour was well organised. Given the time of year the gardens were not very colourful but you could see how amazing they would be when in full bloom. The Palace itself was a little disappointing in how relatively small it was. Some additional displays showing dress of the time and some more displays of contents would have been good - but perhaps there were not any. Maybe the Hapsburgs took them with them when they left!

It wasn't made clear that you had to make your own way from the boat to the Palace which caused some problems for some elderly passengers who struggled with using the public transport. Once there the tour went smoothly and the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The palace itself is beyond impressive. You really need a few days to see it all. There is a little yellow bus tour which may be a good idea for people unable to walk long distances. You will be on your feet for many hours.

Boy, am I glad I secured a skip-the-line guide tour! Not only did we have a wonderful tour guide - fun and knowledgable, but due to the Christmas market out front it was really busy and I never would have enjoyed the tour as much as I did. If you are in Vienna - be sure to indulge in this tour!
