We really enjoyed the catarmaran and the friendliness of the staff on the two water crossings. The island was beautiful and the swim in the lagoon a fantastic memory. The return power boat was a little small for the number of people on the trip, making it a bit cramped. The meal on the island was nice, but the bar staff were reluctant to provide drinks without a tip and no wine provided as people ate.

Trip was brilliant , varied and very enjoyable. It was great to experience the snorkelling, sand bank and of course the beautiful island. The boats were great. All of the staff were great and worked hard in helping us relax and enjoy ourselves. Johnny our tour guide worked hard all day to orchestrate the day to make it great for all of us. The size of the group was just right. Only negative for the day was the length of day we were out - just over 13 hours from being picked up in the morning.

The guide Castro was excellent the crew on both the speedboat and the catamaran specially the catamaran was brilliant. Got us all up dancing made us laugh. It was a brilliant day.

It is a long day of travelling but we did expect that from reviews. We were up and out of the hotel for 7:20am, took the coach (bus) to the peer. On speedboat for no longer than 2 minutes before having a snorkelling stop which was a little disappointing for all. We saw stripy fish but it was underwhelming. back on the boat after 10 mins and went saona which was gorgeous! No starfish though! Beautiful waist height sea and pina colada from pineapple ($10). Not ‘supreme’ but private beach was great

The snorkelling stop was not acceptable as it was a swim off the boat in the harbour with a few fish around. I was expecting a stop off near a reef to snorkel. The return boat trip in a “fast boat” was not good as many passengers got drenched from the spray, yet other types of boats looked ok, not practical having to sit on the coach for the return trip whilst getting the seats wet !!

The trip was fantastic, would give it 10/10 for everything apart from the fast boat part of the journey. It was uncomfortable, all squeezed on and getting drenched by sea water. Thankfully it was the way back but it certainly put a dampener on what was a great day. The staff on the Catamaran were brilliant, very entertaining!

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip- a great organised experience for all the family. The food on the island was plentiful and very good, as was the drinks and snacks on the boats. The only negatives I have would be the coach taking us to and from the trip was far too small, as in crammed seating, no leg room what so ever. For that length of journey a bigger coach would be better. Also maybe a warning from the tour guide that the port is very busy and can be overwhelming.

Only thing would’ve been was toctell us to bring some cash for example we wanted to get the pino colada from the locals on saona island we asked about paying via card but the rep said we could pay later but wasn’t made clear how exactly we could do that. But service was amazing still all of the boat people were helpful and provided excellent service. The tour guide as well was very nice and knew a lot of information

Coach and boat rides very enjoyable Staff on island bang tips jar at you even if getting water. Food was exceptionally basic twice spaghetti overcooked meat however prawns and fish were good Island is over touristed making locals only interested in your money never mind the high premium for the day. Host and Boat staff were amazing

The trip was fantastic from the snorkelling to the boats to the private beach and the food. Nice authentic pina colada which was $10 extra which I think for the price of 6 tickets should have been included. The Catamaran on the way back was great with music and rum. Our 4 kids age range 18 -10 had a blast. It’ll certainly be an experience they’ll never forget.

The Saona Island trip was AMAZING, out of this world. The tui rep, I think his name was Raffiell? I'm sure that was his name, he was VERY GOOD! We felt safe all the time. The staff on the catererman boat and speed boat were good too. Kept filling our drinks up. We had a blast. Everything about the trip was beautiful, seeing the big star fish, the clear water, it was paradise. There isn't anything that you could improve on. 1000/1000. We would do it again 100%

Coach and speedboat had seen better days, boat was crammed full not an inch to spare. Natural pool beautiful best bit, the starfish we saw whilst whizzing along in the boat which is a shame, would have been nice to stop to see them properly. Beach was nice, toilets disgusting however

We had great day out mainly thanks to our tour guide Dani he was so helpfull full of energy and very professional at his job. He made this excursion to be the best day out we had. Keep up Mr Presidente good work!!! Such a nice person it was a pleasure. Excursion well organised and defienetly the best one you could book for Saona expiriance. I have been previously on Saona with different companies and TUI excursion have beat them all with Private beach and organisation of the day out.

Boat trips to and from the island were really good. The staff in the catamaran were really good, got you involved in steering the boat, dancing and generally couldn’t do enough for you. The speedboat trip back couldn’t have been a polar opposite, the crew never spoke, just came round and poured a drink. The stop off on the shallow sand to see the star fish was really beautiful in turquoise clear water. The island itself was disappointing, food provided was poor and wife ended up with upset tummy

Sanoa island was beautiful however this trip is expensive for what you get! When we arrived at the port we got on a boat to the sail boat which we were then told this is where we were to snorkel for approx 10 mins and they boat staff were feeding the fish this was disappointing we then headed to the island! It rained but this cannot be helped, once we arrived at the island it was beautiful and we were left to enjoy the ocean and beach overall the trip was nice but not worth the price of £145pp

Crew were amazing, the multiple stops made it interesting, plenty of good quality food and drink. Timings were good. We were not very lucky on the first (deeper) snorkel stop in Bayahibe harbour, we expected more given it’s a famously well populated spot. Appreciate you can’t make the fish appear, but wonder if there’s a better spot for that first stop. As a good swimmer, I didn’t like having to wear the life jacket.

I enjoyed the day with my family and friends, our guide Olive was great, he was funny, friendly and very informative. However, the toilets on the island were awful, they weren't able to flush so this prevented me from drinking as much as i planned to as i didn't want to use the toilet again. All it would have taken was a hot bucket of water at least. The food wasn't the best, the prawns still had waste in them so it put me off my food. Other than that i had a nice day.

Excellent tour guide and friendly staff, kept us fed and watered with plenty to choose from during the excursion. Food on the island was really nice and I recommend you purchase the fresh pina colada’s $10USD the best you will ever have. Only reason I didn’t give it 10/10 is because it would have been nice to have a little more time on the beach it was only 2.5hrs and goes really fast after having lunch. The excursion is ALL DAY we got picked up from our hotel at 6:30am arrived bk at 7pm

The trip itself was fantastic. The island and natural pool were fantastic. Was disappointed by the snorkelling in “the coral reel” as we didn’t actually see any coral, just rocks and sea weed and a very small number of fish. The guide was rather boring, didn’t engage with any of us at all, wasn’t particularly fun and sounded like he was reading from a script. He also left the coach early before we had even got back to the hotels. The staff on the boat itself were much better.

Guide Bobby J was full of energy and looked after us well. The locations and boat crews were fabulous. The facilities at the island were basic which you’d expect but not being able to flush either of the 2 toilets or wash your hands as taps didn’t work let this trip down. I accept basic standards because it’s a basic island but with the stomach bugs a lot of people have been suffering then unhygienic facilities are asking for trouble which is what I got within 24 hours of this trip!

Good trip but the motor speed boat is not ideal for elderly or young children it was very fast & bumpy when travelling to the sand bank. The stop at the shop is not required and adds more time onto the long day. Olive Oil the Tour Guide was excellent !

Good: A few reviews said the transfer time is long, but actually it was fine so do not let this put you off. We had 'Obama' as our tour guide & he was fantastic. I have never seen water so blue! New core memory - sat on boat, rum in hand, Bob Marley blaring, staring at this picture perfect sea & palm lined beach. Bliss. The food on the beach was fantastic. Bring 10usd for a Pina Colada. Worth it! Great day out. Bad: Did not see any starfish. Overpriced at £140pp. I'd expect to pay £80pp max.

My family and I have thoroughly enjoyed this day out to Saona Island. Although a very long day (just over 12 hours), it was brilliant, from start to finish. Great guide with very pertinent info about the island and the Dom Rep, fantastic boat staff, the snorkeling and swim in the natural pool was excellent and the island was a dream come true for us. Good lunch on the beach as well and an endless supply of drinks. Would highly recommend

Only 5 mins snorkelling. Too many people on catemaran. Guide on the bus was annoying waffling on for an hour rather than just properly telling us what was going to happen. Music on the bus too loud. Food not great. Beach was beautiful but 3 hours too long. Felt like constantly being asked for tips - driver, two different boats, buffet staff, bar staff. This trip was very expensive to have to pay out all those. Trip far too long, gift shop stop for 30 mins resulted in us missing dinner

I thoroughly enjoy the two stops in the sea en route to the island, which gave us plenty of time to swim and also snorkel. The guide was excellent as he was very informative and helpful. It was quite a long day but overall very worth it and excellent value for money! Would highly recommend.

Guide was excellent, lunch on the beach was great, plenty of choice and vegetarian options, snorkelling was really interesting to see the fish and the swim in the natural pool with the starfish was a great experience. The fast boat and catamaran crews were great guys who had us all laughing and enjoying the day. whole experience was fantastic, well worth doing!!

The guide was very informative and also fun. The staff on the boat were also friendly and wanted you to have a good time pouring endless supply’s of rum! The food on the boat was very basic with ham and tomato sandwiches. We stopped for the opportunity to snorkel. The bbq on the beach was very nice with a private dining area and again all inclusive drinks. Spent 3 hours on the island and took a speedboat back to the marina. It was a long 12 hour day starting at 6:40 but very enjoyable.

Our tour guide was great Dan aka presidente. We had enough time at each bit and the excursion is what you make it, yes it's a long day but it states a day excursion, noone was to pushy in the gift shops which we needed to stop at for a toilet break. I totally reccomend this trip. Us 4 adults had a great time and got to see beautiful starfish. Party on a catamaran and drink lots of rum,

Didn't like swapping boats. An ideal boat trip using a catamaran with nets you can lie on so that folk can sunbathe is what should be used if the word catamaran is in the description. Otherwise state which type it is! Didn't like being too far out from shore when in the lagoon. Whole point is to see starfish. Too many boats there at same time and folk everywhere so visibility was poor. Drinks and refreshments on boats was poor. Lunch was OK. Toilets on island,no flush and no running water

the trip was good but the photographer on the boat was pushy and wanted 90 dollars for a few photos. We got off the boat and he took us to an Atm. Our card was declined and he eventually accepted 30 dollars. The port was very intimidating

Saona is simply stunning. Straight out of a film. Our guide was nice & knowledgeable. Be prepared to bring cash as it is extremely tip orientated. But it was all well deserved. There was hardly any shade the island is like a sun trap so have hats and suncream ready. Definitely bring water as they don’t provide bottled water. Food looked lovely and a big spread was on but given the state of the facilities we didn’t want to risk being unwell. It was an amazing day though and highly recommend.

Really great excursion . Saona is a beautiful Island . Roberto our tour guide was a gem and was great fun and full of knowledge . Plenty of opportunities to snorkel . Saw some amazing sea life . Only downside is how long the day is . From hotel pick up to hotel drop off was 12 hours . Some unnecessary stops on the way home to visit a gift shop etc when most people were just wanting to get back .

What a place, its what you imagine the Caribbean to be, looked like a postcode. Food was good drinks were good, boat rides great fun snorkeling was brilliant loads to see. Maybe a few more drinks on the boat (as in bottles of water) but very minor. Great day!!

We had done this experience on a previous holiday. Disappointed with catamaran as no netting so no place to sunbathe. Only 2 crew members so service was not as it was last time with Tui no atmosphere onboard. Previous trip we had dancing and party atmosphere. Guide excellent Island and food drink good. Speedboat good and liked that the guy came in water with a floating bar. Overall still a nice day just catamaran part was boring.

The trip on the catamaran on the way was lovely time to relax and enjoy the sea and rum of course. The private island was lovely with a nice size area to swim and relax, food from the BBQ was of good variety, extras also enjoyable. Only down fall is we only spent 3 hours on the island and needed to allow time for dinner, would have been nice to have longer. We did visit shops on the way back which wasn’t expecting would have rather that time on the island

This was the best excursion we did, the guide was fabulous, the transfer was great fun, the catamaran cruise was brilliant and snorkelling was so much fun. The food on the Island was really good and plenty of it. Lots of drinks available throughout. I really can't criticise the excursion at all. The only thing for Tui to improve is the pickup times, we were far earlier than we needed to be and other people doing this had a later pick up time so we sat around for quite a while waiting at 6.30am.

We enjoyed our trip enormously however as we are older people found the party boat not to our taste. A lot of young people were intoxicated and very inappropriate behaviour.

My only negative for this experience would be the travel involved. About 1:30 on the coach on top of a 1:30 boat ride. However I would strongly recommend due to the amazing service both on the island as well as on the boats travelling too & from. I would like to shoot out Rafael Castro, a truly amazing guide with lots of experience. In addition to this he was very friendly and funny & made the experience amazing. The island itself was beautiful & must do experience! Date of Experience 06/09/22

Pros - beautiful island with no sea weed - lovely snorkel points with sea life Cons - guide is very loud which you do not want at 6:45 am - had to stop at TUI office 40 mins into journey to pick up paperwork they forgot - toilet on bus broken not good for travelling with children - toilet on catamaran and speed boat are disgusting - toilet even worse on island. No flushing facilities a lady came with bucket. - food selection not good, unhygienic facilities - no hand wash or soap

The perfect trip. Picked up and dropped back to the resort. The day itself was amazing with snorkeling, time on the island and getting into the ocean to see the starfish. When on the island the water is crystal blue, makes for the perfect holiday photo with the better half. Lunch was lovely and our guides were excellent. The highlight of our trip to Dominican Republic!

A perfect trip to a little bit of a paradise. Snorkelling, food, swimming, a beautiful beach and crystal clear waters. Transfers were punctual, staff and guides were friendly and helpful. Lunch and drinks were delicious and plentiful! Definitely try the pina coladas! A fantastic trip we are thankful to have booked.

Great trip, glad we went for the more expensive option as had a more exclusive beach and good food. Very early start but couldn't be helped, the crew on the catamaran were fantastic and was like bring the hotel entertainment team with us. The speedboat back with the stop at the natural pool was really good too, the eight people in our party all agreed it was the best day of our two week holiday.

Should be made very clear during booking that this excursion is not suitable for people who are unsteady on their feet as it involves climbing up steps, similar to step ladders on to boats. One client on our trip, fell banging their head and fracturing their wrist getting off a boat. Guide could also have handled this situation better, as it was clear an ambulance was needed and he was slow in calling for this. Overall though trip was fantastic and Saona Island was beautiful

The organisation was brilliant! Like a well oiled machine, everything went smoothly and we were kept informed all day by our guide Danny, He also told us really interesting facts about the DR which I loved knowing. Scored down one point because of some rude humour, it didn’t seem to bother anyone else though! Just me being prudish perhaps, but mainly because some English couple got hideously drunk and spoiled the end of the excursion. It was pretty vile? Danny handled it like a pro.

Guide was amazing very informative friendly and interesting. The lunch was pretty poor no lobster as mentioned in the VIP trip. Only allowed one piece of meat on BBQ and drinks very limited. On board snacks vey poor too. Not as exclusive as made out! The classic must be really basic if this is the VIP excursion

Our tour guide Roberto made us feel very welcomed with a great sense of humour and was informative about different geographical information and history of the areas while on the coach. The trip itself was definitely worth its money - with a speed boat and catamaran journey with music and snacks, snorkeling stops where the snorkeling equipment was provided and stopped to see starfish and tropical fish at the natural pool! Saona Island is spectatular, beautiful scenery, amazing excursion! 5*

This trip is as amazing! Our tour guide was great, and made the day so fun. The island was stunning and it was definitely worth paying more for this version of the trip since you get to visit an emptier part of the island. The food was lovely and so was both the speed boat experience and the catamaran party boat

Good trip for the whole day.can be hard for people with mobility problems as you have to change boats just before to arrive to take you to the beach which is hard to people with mobility as you have to get in water. Food could be improved. Otherwise a good trip.

Enjoyed it overall but the lunch was very disappointing meat was very dry & overcooked (couldn’t eat it) we booked the Saona supreme but wasn’t worth paying double the cost of the classic, pick-up was half an hour late & was back at hotel much earlier than expected (only spending 2 hrs 30 mins on island) I would recommend the classic but not the supreme

Can’t recommend this trip enough. The snorkelling is amazing and was the best day of our holiday. The staff really looked after us. I’m a larger lady and they really helped me feel safe. The guide was super nice and very knowledgeable. Well worth every penny.

We absolutely adored this trip. We got engaged during this trip on Saona Island so we will always remember this place. The only scores that weren’t high were due to the tour guide spending 10 minutes of the coach journey talking about how much we need to tip him and every one we come into contact with. I appreciate someone highlighting where the tip jar is or even hinting they would appreciate a tip, I just don’t agree with a Tui worker telling me I must tip, during a trip I have paid for.

The best was the boat rides other than that the food was burnt, the trip was sold as white sand crystal clear sea. The beach is dirty the sea was covered with sea weed there were no shells starfish or even fish visible. It Cost over £200 for 2 adults and I felt it a complete rip off. I would not recommend waisting your money

the transfers to and back from the hotel to the port for the boat were awful - they were disorganised and we had no idea what was happening. the guide tried his best to sort and was obviously stressed but the return journey in particular was terrible. The actual trip was fantastic - the staff on board the boat were amazing and encouraged us all to dance and take part in the activities. Plenty of drinks - food on the boat was ok and certainly not something i'd complaint but could be improved
