Whale-watching and Bacardi Island

One of the most beautiful attractions in the Dominican Republic is the Samana humpback whale sanctuary, their natural mating and calving grounds. To see these large mammals breach the water is one of the greatest sights in nature. From January until March, you can see these active creatures frolicking in the Atlantic.Every year, up to 5,000 humpback whales return to Samana Bay and the surrounding waters to give birth and to mate.
