Get ready for a 4x4 adventure that'll take you well and truly off the beaten track. Explore rural corners of Crete and immerse yourself in nature as you rumble through the mountains on dirt tracks. Experience the heart of Crete – its rich mythology, diverse flora and fauna, and fascinating local life. Katerina, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Crete's crumpled mountain peaks echo with stories from Greek mythology - Zeus, the Greek god responsible for thunder and lightning, was born in a cave in Crete's mountains, and it was here on Crete that Theseus slayed the minotaur.'We start with a drive along scenic paths and olive groves, passing ancient relics as we climb through Crete's hills. We'll then call in at a small village where you can sample raki and olive oil with the locals. Cretan olive oil is prized for its purity and flavour, as well as its high polyphenol content and low acidity, which make it very healthy.From here, the real off-road adventure begins as we rumble into the mountains and follow an ancient trail used by shepherds to reach flocks high in the summer pastures. In simple shepherd's huts, fresh goat milk is used to make a tasty homemade cheese. Next, we'll visit a family-run taverna for a typical local lunch – a vegetarian option is also available – with unlimited wine. You'll discover another side of Crete with professional and informative drivers who will tell you all about their island - from local life and history to wildlife and cuisine.

Ein seht schöner Ausflug für die ganze Familie, mit einem tollen, sehr unterhaltsamen Guide. Die insgesamt lange Strecke wurde sehr gut von tollen Foto-Stopps unterbrochen, so dass die einzelnen Abschnitte sehr kurzweilig waren. Auch die angefahrenen Ziele ( u.a. Ölmühle, Ziegenbauer) mit entsprechender Verkostung waren sehr gut. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, die Produkte zu probieren und, wer mag, auch zu kaufen. Das Essen in der Taverna war ebenfalls klasse! Von mir volle Empfehlung!

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Es wurde interessantes über Natur,Geschichte und das Leben auf Kreta erzählt. Auch die Stops zum Fotografieren waren zeitlich gut. Die Zeit zum Baden war auch ausreichend.

Einmalige Tour. Auch mit Kinder sehr empfehlenswert. Unser Guide "Saki" war einmalig! Ging auf unsere Bedürfnisse ein und erkundigte sich immer nach unserem Wohlbefinden. Auch das Essen in der Taverne war sehr gut und reichlich. Wir hielten immer wieder für einmalig Fotoaufnahmen. Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen und würden es sofort wieder buchen.

Unser Guide Thassos war spitzenmäßig! Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, man hat wieder sehr schöne Einblicke in Kretas Land und Leute gewonnen. Nur das die Zeus Höhle gesperrt war,fanden wir schade. Die Tour an sich hatte einen guten Ablauf, zeitlich aber auch inhaltlich. Zur absolut authentischen und rundum gelungenen Ausfahrt wurde sie jedoch erst durch unseren Guide - Vasilis! Großes Lob an dessen Engagement und Herzblut. Wir haben schon einige Ausfahrten, Führungen und dergleichen mitgemacht - solche Menschen gibt es leider viel zu wenig. Marginale Abzüge für die Sicherheit; im Bereich der besichtigten Höhle, könnte etwas mehr Beleuchtung hilfreich sein bzw etwas bessere Trittsicherheit

Der Tagesausflug war super klasse. Unser Fahrer Nikos war absolut pünktlich,freundlich und aussagefähig. Wir haben sehr viel über Kreta gelernt. Avec mon épouse nous avons beaucoup apprécié cette excursion. Cela nous a permis de découvrir la Crète de l'intérieur, différente des côtes maritimes. Notre guide Grégory a contribué grandement à cette belle journée. Son humour, sa culture et sa bienveillance nous ont ravi. Pour apporter de l'amélioration, seule la durée nous a semblé trop courte tellement nous étions satisfait de cette ballade. Nous recommandons l'excursion.

This trip was incredible, very different from your usual trip. Firstly they are small groups of up to 8 people. Our driver Yannis was brilliant, very funny and full of knowledge about the area we travelled. The views were amazing. We went to some beautiful and interesting villages, that you just cant get to by coach. Lunch on most day trips can be...well let's say a little disappointing...but the food we had in this trip was lovely. I would highly recommend this trip it was worth every penny.

DieTour war sehr angenehm, tolle Landschaft, kleine Tavernen, Landestypische eben. Auf das ich mich richtig gefreut hatte. Das einzige was ich nicht toll fand, im Jeep hinten zu sitzen, extrem anstrengend und man kann nicht viel sehen, doch die Plätze wurden glücklicherweise getauscht. Alles in allem bin ich froh es mitgemacht zu haben!!!!!!
