Even though I had booked the activity with an English-speaking guide, it turned out he spoke German, and only very limited English. As a result, explanations in English were short and often unclear, which was frustrating. The plan was to visit some city sites, some shops and a bazar market. However, after being forced to listen to long stories in the perfume/tea shop, we we're told that everything is now closed since people are eating (Ramadan), so we never got the see the bazar. This was quite disappointing, as that sounded like the best part of the trip. I am sure they could have foreseen that it was Ramadan, so changing the schedule accordingly would have been nice. On the way back to the resort, I am speaking to other people in the bus. At some point, the guide comes over and sits in between me and the other people. Five minutes later, the guide has fallen asleep, and his head is dangling back and forth from my shoulder to another passenger's shoulder. He did not receive a tip. On the upside, I felt safe.. well mostly. Except for the street outside of the perfume shop with random dudes and kids hanging around, that felt quite sketchy. Overall I feel this trip can be improved, in many many ways.
