What to expect
In the former town hall of Nuenen, you can find the Van Gogh Village Museum. Starting from December 1983, Vincent van Gogh lived for two years with his parents in Nuenen. He dedicated himself to painting and he created as much as a quarter of his entire oeuvre in that period. Inspired by the nature and the simple people, his experiments eventually resulted in 'The Potato Eaters', his first masterpiece.
Van Gogh Village Museum offers four exhibitions. The life of Vincent van Gogh in Nuenen, his friends and family are extensively covered. Also, the full story behind 'The Potato Eaters' can be discovered! Last but not least, in Vincent's Light Lab you can play around with interactive light installations: experiment with light and color, like Vincent himself did. A fun experience for children! Nowhere in the world you will come this close to Vincent van Gogh.
Make sure to discover all that Van Gogh Village Nuenen has to offer by walking or biking in the charming town, where there are as many as 24 buildings and sceneries that Van Gogh painted! A printed tour is available in the museum shop.
