Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni trip from Florence
Validity:
Flexible
Do this because
- Tour the city of Siena with a private guide
- Stroll around Monteriggioni and San Gimignano
- Explore the beautiful villages of Tuscany
What to expect
Spend an unforgettable day in Tuscany aboard a comfortable minivan to discover the characteristic hilltop villages and the magnificent landscapes of Chianti.
You will meet your driver in Piazza Cavalleggeri, in the center of Florence, and you will start the journey with a short stop in Piazzale Michelangelo, to admire the panorama of Florence from above.
The first stop of the trip will be Siena, where you will meet a guide who will accompany you to discover the city center, including Piazza del Campo and the Cathedral. After the guided tour you will also have time to explore the city on your own.
Once you leave, you will reach, through some truly breathtaking landscapes, Monteriggioni, a small fortified village on top of a hill, which is still almost entirely intact. There are many peculiarities that characterize this village, including the perfectly circular shape of its perimeter, built following the natural differences in height of the ground.
The last stop of the tour, but no less important, is the medieval village of San Gimignano, famous for its 14 towers, hence the nickname "Medieval Manhattan". In 1990 the center of the village was included by UNESCO in the list of world heritage sites, so you simply can not miss the opportunity to visit it!
