Your guide will tell you how the town was buried under molten ash and lava by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. During this tour, you can observe a vivid picture of life during the Roman Empire around 2,000 years ago. The first excavations were in the 18th century and after 250 years of excavation about 75% of the town has been dug out.
