What to expect
Paprika and horses might seem an unusual pairing but that's exactly what you'll get in this experience. It starts with a 30-minute coach trip to Bakodpuszta. There, you'll kick things off with a tour and an introduction to paprika processing, where you'll be able to sample some products. Next, you'll take a short stroll to the horse-riding arena, where you'll be greeted by some Hungarian folk music and be treated to some traditional Hungarian snacks, including local wine. Then, you'll sit down to be entertained by a 45-minute horse show led by the Koch Ten – a lone horseman who leads 10 horses by hand. After, there's a carriage ride across the Hungarian Puszta – an enormous area of open grassland which covers most of the country, and it's topped off with some Palinka and Pogacsa. The former's a local brandy-like spirit, and the latter's a type of cheesy biscuit. There'll be time to visit the horses' stables as well before you head back to the port.
