What to expect

On this tour you will explore the many sites of Patmos with a private driver and an optional guide. Wander Chora's cobbled streets, visit historical sites like the famous Cave of the Apocalypse, and see the iconic windmills of Patmos. Discover the beaches of Lambi and Paralia Kampos, and enjoy a pickup and drop-off service at your hotel.

First you will get picked up from your accommodation in Patmos to start the tour. Then, you'll visit the Cave of the Apocalypse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where St. John is said to have received visions which are recorded in the Book of Revelation. Next, you can explore the neighboring Monastery of St John, dating back to 1088 A.D.

From the monastery, you can walk through the cobbled streets of Chora, where houses dating back to the 16th century are linked by a maze of steps and lanes interspersed with small squares. You may also visit the 300-year-old Simandris House to see its rich collection of antiques and architecture.

Next you'll continue up the hill to the windmills of Patmos, where you can find three squat mills that look out over the sea below. Your driver will then take you to some of Patmos’ most beautiful beaches. Pass Grikos bay and look out over crystal-clear water as you reach Lambi beach, famous for its rare multicolored pebbles.

The final stop will be at Paralia Kampos, one of the island’s most popular beaches where you will have time to break for lunch. Your driver will then take you back to your accommodation.
