Your journey begins with a morning departure from Bilbao, heading straight into the heart of Gipuzkoa province. You'll pass through charming villages such as Eibar, Elgoibar, Azkoitia and Loyola. A stop at Loyola allows you to visit the harmoniously proportioned Sanctuary, built between the 17th and 18th centuries. This includes a tour of the magnificent Basilica and the tower-house where Saint Ignatius was born. The journey continues through Azpeitia, leading towards the coast at Zumaia and onto Getaria. Here, you'll explore this beautiful fishing town nestled on the fertile slopes of the mountain. Highlights include the medieval Catrapona archway beneath the 15th-century Church of San Salvador, a chapel for sailors that is a true Gothic gem, along with its fishing port, narrow streets and traditional bars and restaurants.
Next, you'll pass by Zarauz, a tourist resort since the 19th century, before arriving in San Sebastian. Here, a walking tour will take you through the historic old part of the city, showcasing emblematic buildings such as the Church of the Virgen del Coro, the town hall, the old port and aquarium. After some free time for lunch, where your guide will offer restaurant suggestions, you'll embark on a panoramic tour of the most interesting areas. This includes a climb to Mount Igeldo to savour the magnificent views of the Bay. The day concludes with a return to Bilbao in mid-afternoon.
