What to expect
Explore the most emblematic sights of Lisbon on this small-group guided tour!
You’ll start visiting the historic neighborhoods of Portas do Sol and Nossa Senhora do Monte belvederes. Walk through the winding streets of one of Lisbon’s oldest areas until you get to Lisbon Cathedral, the oldest church in the city. Visit the fascinating neighborhood of Alfama and continue to Belém where you will learn how the city expanded during the period of the “Age of Discoveries.” You’ll see the amazing facade of Jerónimos Monastery, one of Portugal’s architectural jewels.
After lunch, you will taste a traditional "Pastel de Belém" custard tart and head back to the city center. You'll pass by the 18th-century aqueduct to the Mãe d'Água Reservoir in the Amoreiras district. The tour will end in the Baixa area, where you'll learn how Lisbon was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1755.
