What to expect

This tour is the perfect introduction to the city for first-time visitors. You will learn about Lisbon’s history as you explore its most interesting neighborhoods.

This tour will begin in the Bairro Alto neighborhood, which is over 500 years old and is quiet during the day but lively at night. You will then visit the Chiado district, known as the “capital of Lisbon." Afterward, you will reach Largo do Carmo, the stage of the main revolution in Portugal. There you'll find the ruins of the Convento do Carmo, one of the few examples of gothic architecture in the city, and the magnificent Elevador de Santa Justa. The next stop will be in Baixa Pombalina, the most elegant district of the city rebuilt after the terrible earthquake of 1755, where you will have time for a short coffee break.

After the short break, you will then take the famous "amarelinho," the yellow tram that will lead you to the multiethnic district of Mouraria, where the urban popular song Fado was born. The tram will take you to the viewpoint Portas do Sol, where you will have a breathtaking view of Alfama, the most genuine and elegant area of the town. There you can admire its labyrinth of roads filled with white houses reflecting the light from the river Tagus. Your tour ends in Baixa, where you can choose to either prolong your trip or use public transport to reach your final destination.
