Validity:
Flexible
Do this because
- Experience a tuk tuk ride to pick up and drop off from/to your hotel across the river to Koh Dach
- Visit the prominent centers of traditional handicrafts
- Biking tour on Silk Island
- Visit the silk weaving, woodcarving and dyeing workshops that dot Koh Dach
What to expect
Trade in the capital’s chaos for the tranquillity of Silk Island. From the hotel, you board a tuk-tuk and set off with your guide to Silk Island, or Koh Dach, which sits in the middle of the Mekong River. After a 30-minute drive, you board a local ferry for the short journey across the water to the island.
Here, you employ pedal power to explore compact Koh Dach, famed for its traditional silk weaving. You cycle past the swathes of farmland, rice fields and orchards that dominate the island and through small villages with stilted wooden homes and colourful gardens. You also visit the silk weaving, woodcarving and dyeing workshops that dot Koh Dach. Lunch is served at a homestay or local restaurant. In the mid-afternoon, you return to Phnom Penh and transfer to your hotel.
