What to expect
Begin your 3-hour gourmet exploration small group guided tour of Bordeaux by meeting your guide at the Girondins column. This food tour will take you through Bordeaux at a very leisurely pace, giving you time to admire the historic beauty of the city's architectural gems.
Your gourmet walking tour of Bordeaux will take you through the charming streets of the city to discover local artisan producers! You will taste the specialties of Bordeaux such as canelés, cheese and delicatessen (charcuterie)! Your guide will tell you all about the city and its history as you go. Included on this tour is a tasting with a glass of local wine.
You'll finish the food tour with a lunch at a typical apartment. Take your pick from the generous array of food offerings, including many of the items you sampled earlier in the tour.
Around 2.00pm, you will leave Bordeaux in a minivan and follow the "Route des châteaux" of the Médoc. Your guide will provide all the information you need to know about the wine regions of Bordeaux and the Médoc. You will stop in a prestigious 1855 Grand Crus Classé. You will visit the vineyards, take a tour of the traditional winery, and discover the cellar. At the end of the visit, you will have a tasting of the château's wine while enjoying an apéritif with French delicacies (cheese, fresh bread...).
At the end, you will stop in front of the most famous château of the medoc: Château Margaux.
