What to expect

In the morning you'll embark on your journey to the cultural city of Oman. You'll visit an old and traditional souq with different spaces/buildings allocated for vegetables, meat, souvenirs, spices, etc. After some free time to take a stroll around the souq, you'll walk towards Fort Nizwafort; with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’ Aruba to defend the route to the interior. The fort dominates the entire area, with the town having grown around the building. Access to the top is only by means of a narrow twisting staircase barred by heavy wooden doors. From the top of the tower, you can get a bird's eye view of the Nizwa city.

Later you'll drive to Bahla and visit Fort Bahla, formally known as the mystical village, famous for Arabian potteries. See the magnificent mud fort from the 12th century which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The Bahla Fort represents the typical Omani military fortress, and the area was fenced with a 12 km radius of fort walls. Next, you'll arrive at Jabreen and have some time to visit. Jabrin is one of the finest castles in Oman, built in the late 17th century, which became a seat of Omani learning. This castle has extremely well-planned layouts with a room for the wali, the ladies' room, the kitchen, the Majlis, etc. Most of the ceilings are decorated with beautiful paintings of Islamic motifs. The view from the top of the castle will leave you mesmerized.
