What to expect

Travel to Drumheller Valley for a unique combination of spectacular scenery and interesting things to do!

Begin your itinerary from Horseshoe Canyon, a glacier-carved "U" surrounded by golden prairie. You can then choose to visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum, which features ten signature galleries devoted to paleontology. Inside the museum, you can admire 40 dinosaur skeletons with more than 110000 fossil specimens. Head to Little Church, a place of worship and mediation. This church was first erected by local contractor Trygve Seland, in cooperation with the ministerial Association in 1968 and was reconstructed by inmates of the Drumheller Institution in 1991.

Reach the Suspension Bridge and find out more about its history. Constructed in 1931, the bridge was built for the coal workers of Star Mine. Lastly, get to the Drumheller hoodoos, internationally recognized icons of the Alberta badlands. Composed of sand and clay from the Horseshoe Canyon Formation, the solid, strong capstones protect the softer, underlying base creating their unique mushroom-like shape. After the tour you'll make your way back to Calgary in the early evening.
