What to expect
Embark on a thrilling sea adventure aboard the Albacora III, a comfortable and safe RIB, as you explore the waters off the Algarve Coast in the company of a knowledgeable nature guide. Get up close and personal with the fascinating marine life in their natural habitat. Plus, by joining this tour, you'll also be supporting CIRCÉ in their conservation efforts for cetaceans in the Algarve.
Set sail from the calm waters of Ria Formosa and venture up to 5 miles offshore into the vast blue ocean. Cruise along the stunning coastline, passing by the barrier islands of Ria Formosa and Santa Maria Cape, the most southern point of Portugal, in search of dolphins and other wildlife. The common dolphin and bottlenose dolphin are among the most sighted species in the area.
As you sail, be mesmerized by the seabirds soaring above, including the majestic northern gannet, Balearic shearwater, and Mediterranean gull. You may also spot storm petrels and seagulls, especially when passing by fishing boats. Keep an eye out for sea turtles, ocean sunfish, sharks, and occasionally other cetacean species like the harbor porpoise and minke whale.
