What to expect

Experience the feeling of weightlessness in a new environment and enjoy the vibrant colors and amazing variety of the Red Sea marine life by choosing one or more of the following diving experiences in Marsa Alam:

Half-day PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD): Half-day experience, age limit 10 years. 1 briefing and knowledge development. Dive starts in the shallows with some skills to complete. Conducted from the boat. Dive continues into deeper water for fun and marine life encounters.

Daily diving (1-day to 5-day diving package): A fully flexible dive program is available for qualified divers. You can book any number of days – the more you do – the cheaper it gets!! You need to bring certification card, log book, passport and any personal diving equipment you have. Most dive sites are suitable for all levels.

PADI Scuba Diver 2-day course: This is a 2-day course that involves 3 confined water sessions, knowledge development and 2 open water dives on the boat – age limit 10 years. A digital manual is required for each student (€25). The Scuba Diver course qualifies divers to dive to 12m accompanied by a PADI professional. It is basically the first half of the Open Water course. On successful completion of the course, a fee is payable to PADI for processing the certification card – €30 + tax. Scuba divers can also upgrade their certification by taking part in an extra 2 days to gain the full Open Water Diver certification.

PADI Scuba Diver 4-day course: This is the classic entry-level program – age limit 10 years. Open Water Diver course takes 4 days and involves 5 confined water sessions, knowledge development and 4 open water dives on the boat. A digital manual is required for each student (€25). At the end of the course, divers will be qualified to dive to 18m (12m for 10-11 year old) with another qualified diver. On successful completion of the course, a fee is payable to PADI for processing the certification card - €30 + tax.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (2-day course): If you already have the Open Water rating (or equivalent) you can go on to the next level of training, the Advanced Open Water course. This takes 2 days and involves 1 check/fun dive and 5 course dives. A Deep dive and a Navigation dive are required as part of the course. You can choose the other 3 dives to suit your interests, such as Underwater Naturalist, Fish Identification, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift, Enriched Air – and many more! This can be discussed with your instructor on the first day. You should be aware that for a few of the dives, such as the night dive, an extra charge on top of the course fee applies. A digital manual is required for each student (€25). Once qualified, divers can go to a maximum depth of 30m (junior divers to 21m). On successful completion of the course, a fee is payable to PADI for processing the certification card - €30 + tax. Age limit 12 years.

Skills review and 1 fun dive: Full day program including 2 dives. For qualified divers who have not dived in the last 12 months, a refresher course called Skills Review is required. This involves a confined water session (in shallow sea) with an Instructor or Dive Master to practice basic skills and a chance to go over any theory you are unsure of. This is followed by a second dive to fine-tune buoyancy and weighting.

1-day snorkeling for non-divers: Non-divers are welcome on the boat for snorkeling or just to enjoy the ride (€40.00 plus taxes and lunch).
