Settings don’t come much more impressive than the hilltop plot occupied by Devin Castle. There’s been a fortification in this Slovakian spot – on the outskirts of Bratislava – since the Bronze Age. You’ll head to the clifftop plateau for a look around its stone walls and battlements, which date as far back as the 13th century. If you climb to the highest point, you’ll have sweeping views of the Danube River below. After you’ve had your fill of exploring, it’s time to crack open the wine. You’ll try three local varieties in a tasting session, with a few traditional snacks served on the side. Once you’ve finished, you’ll catch a transfer back to the port.
