What to expect
Feel the raw power of black lava sand on Iceland's south shore and experience different landscapes of the Icelandic flatland. In this tour you will be heading out of the city for an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) ride on a black sand beach.
Upon joining your guide in Reykjavík, you will start this excursion with a drive towards Mýrdalsjökull glacier where volcano Katla is located. From there you will get onboard an ATV and start your adventure.
You will cross rivers, go to the Dyrhólaey promontory, and to Sólheimasandur beach where you can see the famous DC-3 aircraft wreck. The abandoned DC-3 plane wreck has been filmed in TV commercials and a Bollywood movie. It was also featured in the 2007 Sigur Rós documentary and in Justin Bieber's "I'll Show You" music video.
After dropping off the ATV quads you will continue your adventure with a drive to the magnificent Seljalandsfoss waterfall and you might be able to go for a walk behind it. You will then make a stop at the Skógafoss waterfall before heading back to Reykjavik.
