What to expect
Get your holiday mood on! Wander the alleys of Stockholm's Old Town as you fill you in on what a typical Swedish Christmas is like. A Christmas market, mulled wine and customs, can you feel Stockholm's Christmas Spirit in the air!” Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, Yuletide carols being sung by a choir and folks dressed up like Eskimos…” It's time to get in the holiday mood with our Stockholm's Christmas Spirit Private Walking Tour! If you are planning a holiday for December, you have to experience what Christmas in Stockholm is like. It's magical! Forget about the turkey; during Christmas in Sweden, it's all about the julskinka, or Christmas ham.
There are also traditions of advent candelabras, Christmas stars, Lucia Day celebrations and kids having a hard time sleeping whilst waiting for Santa, or as people say in Sweden: Tomten. Christmas markets dot the city map, one of which is located right here in the Old Town, on the main square, Stortorget. Though our stop will be short, we definitely recommend coming back after the tour to take a look around and perhaps do some Christmas gift shopping!
Seize the opportunity to wander the cosy streets of Stockholm's Old Town with your private guide to see what Christmas in Stockholm is all about. When Jack Frost does start nipping at your nose, you'll be treated to a taste of non-alcoholic mulled wine or Glögg in Swedish.
