What to expect

Join a 2-day trip to two gems along the coast north of Hoi An. On the first day, explore the caves and pagodas of Marble Mountains, the Cham Museum and Da Nang Museum. The next day, visit Hue's most important attraction, the Citadel, which encloses the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City and the Emperor's Private Residence.

Da Nang is not only famous for its beautiful sandy beaches but also for its bridges and museums. Delve into history in the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Museum of the Fifth Military Zone and see ancient artifacts in the Cham Museum. Next, head to Thuan Phuoc Bridge at Tien Sa Port, and Dragon Bridge, a very unique and modern bridge that crosses the Han River.

After lunch, take the stone steps carved into Marble Mountains and discover its caves. Then head to the mysterious Linh Ung Pagoda; legend has it that a Buddhist statue drifted downstream to the area and got anchored at a sandy embankment. On the way north, stop at Hai Van Pass for spectacular views from the top and explore some bunkers left over from the war. Overnight stay in Hue.

Start your second and last day from the Citadel of Hue, which encloses the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City and the Emperor's Private Residence. After lunch, admire Thien Mu Pagoda, infamous for the monk who set himself on fire for political protest and considered by many as the unofficial symbol of Hue. Finally, visit Khai Dinh Tomb and the vibrant Dong Ba Riverside Market.
