What to expect
Skiathos is een en al Egeïsche charme. En de beste manier om de geheime plekken van het eiland te ontdekken is met deze 4x4 safari van 60 km. Eerst stuiter je naar het Evangelistria-klooster en de voormalige hoofdstad Kastro. Dan maak je foto's boven de baai van Elias, zwem je bij het Kechira-strand en rijd je door het bekende Mandraki-bos.
's Ochtends stap je in je 4x4 en trek je het binnenland van Skiathos in via paden en wegen die alleen met een terreinwagen begaanbaar zijn. Eerst ga je naar de oude hoofdstad Kastro, waar je meer te weten komt over...

Excellent tour of the mainly north of Skiathos served by dirt tracks so a 4x4 is essential, having a guide with a small intimate tour made it enjoyable, informative, relaxed and safe.

Jeep safari was fab, such an easy way to see sights you may not see without a car or quad bike. Both guides were knowledgeable and funny, Nicholas was amazing with his history knowledge and of course his herbs and flowers. We learnt so much on this trip, was also great to spend it with Christina and the lovey guests. Lunch was lovely and with such an amazing view. Would highly recommend

Well where do I start - first of all, Nicholas our guide and driver was just fantastic - his knowledge of the island and all its flora and fauna was just amazing - it felt like there was nothing he didn’t know!! He was incredibly attentive and looked after us all throughout the day and interested in our countries and cultures - he even brought my sunglasses back to my hotel that I’d thought I’d lost!! Would absolutely recommend this trip especially if you get Nick as your guide 😊😊

We was lucky to only have 3 of us in the vehicle so plenty of room. Our driver, Alex, was amazing ! Lookked after us very well. The guide, Nickolas, was extremley knowledgeable and taught us so much about the plants, nature and sights. If you have a fear of heights then the walk to the castle is daunting but you can still get great views of it from the carpark and plenty of other things to see on the trip. We would not have liked to have done the roads we went on in a hired vehicle ourselves.

The guides were very knowledgeable and it was a great trip foe anyone who didn't know the island. Possibly Mandraki beach isn't the best one to end up and swim, but it's spectacular and has a taverna.

Thoroughly great experience and highly recommend as a day trip of the island. Our tour guide and driver Nicholas was superb from the time he picked us up at our hotel and has an excellent sense of humour. With an extensive knowledge and history of the island we had a thoroughly wonderful day. The stop for lunch at the restaurant with panoramic views overlooking skiathos town and afternoon visit to the beach on the west coast wrapped up a day to remember. Thank you.

We had an absolutely amazing day today with our guide Nikolas. He was so knowledgeable about the local flora, and sites that we saw. We were able to see so much of the island in a single day, with a perfect mix of culture, relaxation and adventure. I am usually scared of steep roads, but Nikolas made it seem like a breeze! He even remembered that he gave my partner and his family a tour over 9 years ago. This was a brilliant day, and was made by our phenomenal guide.

Great itinerary, lunch stop was fabulous, guides were lovely, informative and knowledgeable. They took great care of the guests - however the vehicles were very cramped and not all passengers would be willing or able to clamber into the rear seat, hence only 8/10.

Alex was our driver he was knowledgeable and made our day fun with his humour and friendliness.
We were taken around the real skiathos off the beaten tracks which was beautiful and had a lovely lunch with an amazing view!

This trip is a must for anyone visiting Skiathos. The guides were full of knowledge and also very funny which made the trip extremely enjoyable. The places we visited were very interesting and beautiful and we probably couldn’t have seen them without the 4x4. The restaurant views and food were both fabulous and the beach stop at the end was a great way to finish a full day trip! Would highly recommend.

We travelled with Dimika (sorry if I've spelled it wrong). I'm a terrible passenger and hate scary steep windy roads but I felt very safe with her and wasn't scared at any time. We had loads of opportunities to take photos and she stopped whenever we wanted. The visit to Kastro is uneven so you need shoes, not the sandals I had on. Dimika was very attentive making sure I was ok, and Nicholas helped with steep steps. Their talks are informative and told with passion.

This is classed as a 4x4 experience which it was not. 6 adults plus driver squashed into a car made the day intolerable. My husband and one other gentleman were put into 2 child seats in boot of a Peugeot 4007. I couldn’t get in to these seats as first my legs would not bend enough without possibly breaking them! Then I got stuck and couldn’t get out. My husband has a bad knee and was forced into them. He still has a bad back and mark across his back 3 days after the experience.

Dimitra and Nickolas were fantastic guides, they were so knowledgeable & friendly. We learnt so much throughout the day, & saw so many hidden secrets of the island! They accommodated our different needs of the group really well, & paced the tour accordingly! Lunch overlooking Skiathos Town was perfect, what a view, & delicious food! What a drive through the forest & wonderful swim at the beach. Cannot recommend this enough, thank you Dimitra & Nickolas, you made it a special day of memories

Fascinatong trip with very informative guides - lots of interesting places visited. Overall excellent. Only issue was the 4x4 wasn't really suited to 6 adult passengers- 3rd row seats were cramped and uncomfortable.

“Jeep 4x4” was a misnomer as the car was an ordinary salon. Others were offered a small hatchback with an extra row of seats. It would have been highly uncomfortable so not surprised they declined. The marketing material should be clearer as currently it is misleading. Guide/driver was excellent. V knowledgeable. Great itinerary

Our guide Nick was really informative and easy to get along with. We saw a lot of the North of the island which isn’t accessible by normal car. Beautiful scenery. We were disappointed to find that we were sharing the car with another couple. The back seats are not big and it wasn’t good being crammed on it with 2 people I had never met before! Fortunately, we got on ok with them and all took it in turns to sit in the front of the car.

It was a truly epic experience, Nikolas the driver/guide went above and beyond to make the day a thoroughly enjoyable trip. We visited some great sites that you would have never found if you had been driving yourself. He had an in-depth knowledge of the history of the island and as we explored on foot, showed us all the different plants we came across and how they influenced the island with nutrition, cures and poisons.

Firstly the trip was brilliant and I would do it again .The sights were amazing and it was great to explore the island of Skiathos. Nickolas the guide was fun, friendly and informative. He took care of guests making sure everyone enjoyed the trip. Unfortunately having 1 of the adults sat in the back seat made for children led to an uncomfortable journey for one person (some of us took it in turns) while in the back seat you had to sit with legs out stretched and couldn’t see the passing scenery

Can’t fault our trip! Friendly and informative guides, a brilliant itinerary, seeing things we’d never have seen if we weren’t on the tour. Perfect way to explore the north of the island. Make sure you have appropriate footwear as some walking is required but guides very keen to adapt for you!

Our guide Nikolas A. Despiniadis was an incredible guide, providing wonderful historical details and botanical wonders across the island. His inside knowledge of the island was exceptional. Both guides knowledge of the islands History, flora and fauna and the stories they told made the trip for us. We were not rushed, the driving was excellent and getting off the beaten track to the north of the island, away from the tourist hotshots was a joy. The restaurant with the views for lunch was the perfect pick, and the swimming at the end of the day was the best ending. Shout out to Nikos and his passion for herbs and their medicinal properties.

This was a fabulous trip which enabled us to see quite a bit of the island. The trip combined history, botany and great scenery. The view from the lunch stop over Skiathos Town was fabulous and the menu was good value. The guides were knowledgeable. We had the opportunity to swim in the sea at our final stop. Thank you.

Outstanding. The information the guides have provided us with was brilliant, and extremely interesting. the way they looked after us was amazing. Yes, there is a lot of walking, probably a bit more than we expected, but they looked after us every single step of the way. They were especially helpful of my husband Colin when the going got a bit too much for him. But for saying that if anyone needed a hand over a rocky bit , they were there. This is not just a day trip this is an adventure.

We enjoyed the whole day. However we were told to go to Aegean Studios for collection. This involved an approx 10 minutes walk uphill to get to. The driver wondered why we were asked to do this as they frequently pick up at K B Ammo’s. Our driver Nikolas was very knowledgeable, interesting on a wide range of subjects. All delivered with humour. Both drivers were very personable. Nikolas made the whole day.

Would have liked more botany and walking in the countryside. Both guides were great, especially Nikos(?), providing fascinating information about the local flora. In general, I would very much like a guided walk option for trips. The north of Skiathos is beautiful, but inaccessible to non-driver. A walk through Mandraki forest with a knowledgeable guide would have been great.

Nicholas our tour guide was amazing. He was really good at getting us all to know each other.his knowledge of plants and shrubs was immense .likewise his historic knowledge was so interesting . The only thing that let this trip down is the vehicle. Six adults and a driver in a vehicle more like a family people carrier without air con wasn't what we had expected .nic made up for this with his lovely personality and immense knowledge. Please use a more appropriate vehicle or only takec4 guests .

Please look into rescuing the donkey that has been dumped in the hills on the way to Kastro The 4x4 driver has said its has been there a while Its very skinny. Ive emailed Skiathos donkey rescue the police and the dog rescue to ask for their help The Tui rep at the hotel told me of another donkey in the village with hooves so over grown it cant walk. In todays work cruelty and neglect should NOT be happening. Kudos to Tui if you can step in and help the poor boy before its too late PLEASE

This is probably the most interesting tour I have ever been on. The two guides were so interesting, knowledgeable and welcoming. The trip covered so much of the island so gave a very good overview. The restaurant for lunch was well priced with appertising food. The swim at the end was wonderful. The whole trip was relaxed. The only suggestion i have is for people to wear long sleeves and trousers as the mosquitoes were biting in the vegetated area. A thororughly brilliant trip.

I’d have rated everything 9 but packing 6 adults in a SUV for an all day excursion on rugged terrain is not the most comfortable way of traveling making it tiring and unpleasant. The guide was excellent with wide knowledge base which made the trip very interesting but I’d hesitate to go on it again because of the number of people in the car which is clearly the responsibility of the company facilitating the experience.

I honestly cannot fault this tour. I travelled with a family group of five. Our guide Nicholas picked us up at hotel promptly.. he was polite, thoughtful and very knowledgeable on island history, flora and fauna . He took us exploring,walking, swimming and to a beautiful place for lunch. At no time did we feel rushed He remembered all our names. At the end of trip we felt we had travelled with a friend. Just hope we can remember all the interesting things he told us.

Whilst.i enjoy the company of the couple who shared our car i feel the rep should have explained that some of the trip was walking as our rep did it was unfortunate that the one person could not walk every where even though the driver give her assistant, I was given the opportunity to visit the castle but it meant people waiting approximately 1.5 hrs where if explained to the other couple this problem wouldn't have arisen.

Nikolas is an amazing guide, super knowledgeable regarding plants, foraging & history. Really loved the plant info - he would make an amazing eco-tourism guide - learn to forage, gather ingredients to add to a local lunch, then make a face oil, or tonic etc… would love that! Amazing views and insight into local historic points of interest. The info on Papadiamantis was great too. The lady who explained these aspects was really passionate about her subject. 4x4 was too crowded.

We had a lovely trip and i can thoroughly recommend it. I t covered nearly all the Island and I ffelt with Demetra (apologies for any mis-spelling we had really expert driver. We enjoyed beautiful views, interesting stories and history of the Island an its people and all literally off the beaten track. I thought is was good value for money. but the cost is quite high.

This was a great way to explore parts of the island that you can’t normally access. We had a informative guide who had written a book about the flowers on the island and his knowledge in this area was formidable. We had a lovely lunch and late afternoon swim, again normally only accessible by foot or off road vechcile. What a special day!

Nikos was an excellent guide. He and his colleague shared a great deal of information about the Islands history, culture and flora and fauna! We learned such a lot. The drive took us to places we would not have found ourselves as so much was literally 'off road'. Although we were a driver and four passengers , we were comfortable and secure in the 4x4 car. This trip enabled us to see just how beautiful the island is from amazing viewpoints . Great day out, no hesitation in recommending it.

Due to there being 5 passengers in our car, I was made to sit in the 'boot' (the back row of the 7 seater) the guide/driver said we would swap round throughout the day, but this didn't happen. I was very cramped & had a very limited view. You should not book more than 4 passengers onto this trip! To be honest I think I should get a refund. The guides were friendly & knowledgeable. The places we stopped were great (though would've liked longer at the monastery) but the whole day was ruined for me

Whole experience was most varied and enjoyable. Walk to Kastro made so interesting learning about different plants/trees and their medicinal properties. The knowledge from both drivers was unquestionable on the myths, legends and history of ancient times. Monastery interesting followed by lovely Taverna for lunch overlooking Skiathos. Ended the day by a relaxing hour on Mandraki beach after ride through forest. Well done to both drivers - safe and comfortable day.

This was a really good trip. Dimitria was extremely well informed about Skiathos and the local stories. The visits to different parts of the island gave us the most amazing views and we were able to understand the development of Skiathos over the years. Didn't really appreciate the lunch stop, lovely views but was expensive and lacked key ingredients that were promised in description, also lots of smokers in restaurant whilst trying to eat.

Very knowledgeable friendly guide, well paced and good choice of lunch venue, Platanos, which overlooks the sea down to the harbour at Skiathos town. Visited places of interest to the north of the island, not on the normal public transport routes; good value for money if you take into account how much it would cost in taxis to get to these places or you could hire your own vehicle but then you’d miss out on the information & banter provided by the guides. One critisism, rear 2 seats not great??

This trip was amazing. The two tour guides were brilliant, funny and full of information on the history and plants on the island. It was the perfect mix of places to visit and the right length of time at each stop. Lunch had the most amazing view of the island and the last stop was a beach with water so clear you didn’t need to use a snorkel to see the fish. We had a 15 year old with us who found the day perfect too.

The 4x4 safari vehicles can only seat 3 adults plus driver or 2 children and 2 adults. It’s a full day and one of the vehicles was supposedly picking up 6 adults with 2 in the very rear of the vehicle, on a very hot and long day, this isn’t suitable for cramming people in the vehicles. That said the guides were brilliant and the day was packed with sights and information. Well worth it but you’re paying quite a bit so you shouldn’t be cramped in with strangers. Check the numbers before booking!

we thought this was an expensive trip but we wanted to see more of the island so went ahead. No regrets, it was a very full 9 hours during which time we were educated on the flora and history of Skiathos. Nikolas is extremely knowledgable and involved us in identifying various plants and trees, including well known herbs that grow wild. The guides were excellent. We had Dimitera(?) and Niko. They were so knowledgeable about the island it was incredible. Between them they kept the group entertained with their historical stories and facts and Miko knowledge of the habitat was just excellent to listen to. Our car was smaller than the other jeep, there were 5 adults and guide - very cramped as one had to sit in the very back, not good for travel sickness. Our guide was lovely, very friendly and knowledgeable and a great driver. It was all great fun and very much enjoyed. The first beach stop is actually just to look at the map and I wish we had used the facilities at the lunch as the toilet at the final beach stop is a hole in the ground! A lovely day out and great to see the north of the island.

The instructor was fabulous and made the trip . Ways to improve would be a bigger specialised vehicle to offer more comfort for six passengers. Lunch and drinks should be included in the price , as we all found the trip very expensive

We had an excellent day out, one of the best TUI day trips we have ever been on. The guides were so lovely and genuine and told us so many interesting things about Skiathos. I was a little apprehensive as my husband is not a good traveller if he's not driving, but our guide was such a skillful driver so he was absolutely fine!

We had this trip cancelled last year and as it was the end of our holiday we couldn’t rebook. It was cancelled twice again this year and then we weren’t on the list when the cars picked up from our apartments. However our driver Nickolas sorted it for us and we had a great day. He was a fantastic guide and driver., and both guides gave us a lovely mix of historic and biotanical information. This trip was much better than we thought it would be and we would recommend this great experience.

The guides ( we had Demetra but it was good to have another car and for us to link up and then we had 2 guides) Demetra was lovely and very friendly and personable with some interesting stories. The other guide was Nikolas and he gave us a bit more history and his botanical skills was expert and great to have.

We were one of 2 couples in the vehicle. Explored places we wouldn't have got to see as it was a non driving holiday for us. Nicolas was an amazing guide very customer focused and a warm and friendly person who was a fountain of knowledge. Stopped off for lunch and a couple of beach stops (free time) A very long day about 10hrs transfer from and to hotel much appreciated. Would definitely recommend and would rebook if we revisited so much more to see other than bus stop 0 - 26 their beaches/town

This was a brilliant trip. Worth every Euro. Our guide was kind, funny and vey informative. We learnt a lot about the flora and fauna and the history of Skiathos. The restaurant meal was delicious (paid extra) with wonderful views of Skiathos. Swimming on the beach at the end of the day was relaxing. The off road experience on unmade tracks was interesting and exciting at times. Overall a wonderful and informative trip. Definitely go on this trip.

Seeing the more remote areas of Skiathos, we always thought we’d hire a car and drive there but the roads are almost all off road driving. We liked the place where we had lunch, unfortunately we always have something very light during the day and all choices were full meals

We enjoyed being able to explore the North of the island instead of driving ourselves. The guides were brilliant we had Nickos who was very knowledgeable, funny & very interactive. Loved the info about plants & herbs. Places that we visited were picturesque and had lots of history of which we were told. Plantanos, for lunch had fab views & the food was lovely. Just the right amount of time spent there Would have liked more time at the Monastry. Miss out Mandraki beach, dirty & unable to swim.

The whole day was a great success, from pick up to drop off. The 2 guides made you feel at ease and were very knowledgeable, we would never have visited those parts of skiathos island. The lunch stop was perfect as was the visit to the monastery and beaches, all in all a great fun packed day.

The guides were fantastic. Great drivers so you always felt comfortable with great knoeledge of the island and flowers, plants etc. You went to places you’d probably never visit and what amaxing views and scenery. Worth every penny and we would do it again for sure.

The most remarkable and unforgettable days out. One of the very best guided excursions we have every been on. Nikolas was nothing less than outstanding. A wonderful host, driver, storyteller, botanist, with a wealth of knowledge on the island, flora, fauna, history and myths and legends. We visited places we'd never have seen unless with a study 4x4 and the bravery to take the mountain paths we did! Highly recommended.

Nicholas was an excellent, knowledgeable guide. He drove the safari at our pace. We never felt pressured to keep up. There were plenty of stops and Nicholas gave us time to shop and use the toilet facilities at the monastery, which I fully recommend as the facilities at the beach where you can swim are primitive to say the least. Frills and spills isn’t how I would advertise it, educational, definitely with Nicholas.

Nikolas the guide was fantastic! Very knowledgeable of the area, especially the plant life giving good information about all the edibles around which was an added bonus to the trip. He was also very friendly and made sure everyone in the car was well looked after. The only thing I would potentially change would be the beach at the end of the day. Not the best beach on the island but was still nice to sit and relax for a bit after the journey
