Letterlijk bewolkt dit is tweede keer dat het compleet bewolkt was. 2X gevraagd of het bewolkt wordt en ze zouden het afzeggen als het bewolkt was, maar dit hebben ze niet gedaan. Dit is gewoon de zwaarste scam hier van tui… Zelfs de mensen daar klaagde over het weer en dat TUI het niet had afgezegd. Tui is gewoon een geld nakker en heeft gewoon nu al 2x 180€ van ons “gestolen” dit is on acceptabel. De gids was wel heel gezellig en leuk tenminste een plus puntje…

Ich habe es mir persönlich anders vorgestellt. Essen war unerwartet, aber lecker. Aber wenn man vor Ort sieht, dass es vor Ort nur die Hälfte vom Preis kostet, als das was TUI verlangt, ist es eine Frechheit von TUI so viel zu verlangen. Der Abend war vom Preis Leistungsverhältnis leider nicht wert und wurde zum Schluss leider unnötig in die Länge gezogen. Die Leute vor Ort waren sehr angenehm und nett

Stargazing was hampered by the clouds and a little haphazard in the way it was executed but the two guides were so attentive and funny. Homecooked meal was lovely - delicious tuna steaks. And the live music from a local musician was a lovely touch. Well worth it.

The overall evening was excellent from start to finish. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, knowledgeable in their subject and provided an excellent evening of star gazing and education. The meal was delicious and ample. Highly recommend.

To many people. Not as described ie. Not a BBQ, not 2 drinks, 3 looks in only 2 telescopes each time as there were so many people it was a 15 minute wait. Very uncomfortable seating. However the guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and polite. We learnt a lot but it was difficult to hear again due to the space and amount of people.

The staff were amazing and dealt with a really difficult customer with class. The toilets were slightly smelly and the lights didn't work so I had to pee by torchlight. The stargazing was great and it was informative. Would recommend overall.

Had a lovely time with knowledgeable and personable guides despite the clouds! High tech telescopes are available to view the night sky. Dinner was a great buffet selection but not barbecued as mentioned in some reviews. A sweet toast at the end. Would go again for a different outlook at different time of year. Thanks ! Do note, some "off-roading" in a minibus to get to the venue may require antisickness medicines to be taken.

A really enjoyable and different experience. The food was decent and two drinks per person. The guide was excellent and was really knowledgeable about the stars and planets. We were able to see Jupiter, Neptune and a nebula through the telescope, as well as the moon. At the end of the evening, the guide took photos of the moon through the telescope on our phones which looked fantastic. We would definitely recommend this experience.

The guides were very insightful and entertaining and the experience was really enjoyable, the food was good as well and found it very good value for money. There were small kids there, which made it more challenging (tantrums), and was unexpected when the experience said it was for ages 12+. Overall loved the experience. Would go back in a return trip to see what other planets we could see.

Its was cloudy so no stargazing available. told there was a piano playing, no piano, restaurant was more of a beach shack. Starter was x1 piece of toast cut into 4 with a few chopped tomatoes that was between 2 people, pudding no choice no fruit just a small square of chocolate sponge (very small) with a little sauce on. Was told, several telescopes/ tablets, lasers To stargaze, No tablets/ lasers x1 telescope only. Person playing a guitar sad music only. Was incredibly disappointed no barbecue.

A very informative and interesting evening viewing the star consolation s through a huge telescope and with the aid of a lader light. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the talk relevant by showing us the star formation s and pictures which showed how small we actually are in the universe. It was so nice to have a lovely 3 course meal and special drinks included, the food was really nice and the service excellent. The whole evening was very good value for money

The team was so knowledgeable and the made sure it was more than just a dinner with a look through a telescope, they told us so much information about what we’re were looking at, they showed us the moon rise, we got some phenomenal pictures and we had a lovely meal. A really enjoyable and unusual evening!!

Das Restaurant am Kite Beach war einheimisch geführt und sehr authentisch. Die vielen jungen Menschen der Sternenbeobachtung waren sehr engagiert, konnten viel zeigen und erklären. Es war ein sehr gelungener Abend. Für Menschen/Kinder, die sich für Sterne weniger interessieren, könnten die 3h etwas langatmig werden.

Kein deutsprachiger Guide, das Abendessen war gewöhnungsbedürftig, sehr lieblos aufgetischt. Es gab keine verständlichen Erklärungen. Wir hatten keinen unvergleichlichen Blick auf die Milchstraße konnten insofern auch nichts genießen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passte nicht. Für uns reine Zeit-und Geldverschwendung. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Overall it was a good evening. The food was delicious & the guides were very good. The problem was the transport. I am disabled & struggled getting on the bus. Also there was a drunk guest who was abusive & made everyone uncomfortable.

Unfortunately it was a cloudy evening (we appreciate this was out of your control but perhaps it should have postponed) We arrived to a welcome drink served out of a red bucket, strange experience. The BBQ was OK the other drink served was very low quality wine which was difficult to drink. The guides are very knowledgeable and obviously it was hard for them given the cloud cover.

Zeer hartelijke ontvangst met live muziek. Eten was lokaal: heerlijke smaken in alle eenvoud, en keuze voor vlees/vis/vega. Leuke dingen geleerd over onze sterrenhemel en de blik op een aantal planeten en sterren via de telescoop was magisch. Het was deels bewolkt. Met een volledig open lucht was het wellicht een 10 geweest, maar ook nu was de excursie de moeite waard.

I was amazed to see so many stars in the sky as we have too much light pollution at home. Our Guide to the stars had some much information to share with us .. Only one suggestion would be maybe to have another telescope to look through to save queuing for one. Overall a great night under the stars listening to a guitarist while you eat. ??

Die Teleskope waren/ sind nicht hochwertig, so das man wirklich was sehen kann. Teilweise sehr unscharf. Essen war okay, obgleich das nicht unser Fokus war. Ist eine typische Touriveranstaktung. Der Guide hat erklärt, doch sehr schnell gesprochen.

Not worth it – refund required This stargazing BBQ was a complete disappointment. The food was unacceptable for a BBQ buffet, limited to chicken drumsticks and overcooked fish. It was freezing cold, very windy, with no shelter. Only two telescopes for 40 people and a loud generator made the stargazing poorly planned and unenjoyable. Even the bus ride felt unsafe due to reckless driving. This experience did not match what was advertised. I expect a full refund. Can’t believe tui could recommend.

My wife has mobility issues when walking. The staff, from driver to event leader were superb. They helped her on & off the bus & the three steps into the restaurant. The dinner was a self service buffet. The staff asked my wife what she would like from the buffet & brought each course to her. They provided chairs for us to sit on outside as we enjoyed the stargazing & viewing through the telescope. I highly recommend this trip. You can see the Milky Way, but book during new moon to see it

Unser Guide war sehr sympathisch und konnte uns viel über unseren Nachthimmel erklären. Leider spielte das Wetter nicht so mit und es wurde mit der Zeit mehr bewölkt sodass gegen Ende keine Sternbeobachtung mehr möglich war. The astronomical knowledge of those running the evening left something to be desired. They lacked scientific knowledge and gave some information that was factually and cosmologically incorrect. Other than that a dark sky opportunity to see some of the stars of the southern sky not visible from Europe.

I enjoyed looking at the sky with the naked eye but the telescope was not strong enough. Having an evening with everyone talking one language would be better. It was a bit off putting having someone continually talking over each other.

Very fun experience, the sky is so massively different in Cape Verde compared the uk. Once the darkness came over the sky lit up, the guides were very knowledgeable and pointed out multiple constellations and different facts and stories. Using the telescope was very cool to see the stars close up and how they compare to each other. The food was 10/10 with multiple options and a very good vegetarian option. Definitely worth the money and a night I won’t forget.

An amazing experience! I was never that into science but I thought star gazing would be fun - I was not disappointed. Our three expert guides were not only very knowledgeable about astronomy, they were also incredibly engaging! I learned things I never thought of lookong into, while having a lot of fun. The meal was great, the music was ok, but our astronomers' mini lectures and fun Q&As were the best part of the evening - highly recommended!

Lovely event, smashing people, got everyone terrific moon videos on their phones. Due to fact that there are limited stars to see and wouldn't take much time, interspersed with meal and grog testing, which I would have preferred to skip in favour of drink and snacks and more time learning about constellations. That said excellent and fascinating trip.

Well we saw the moon jupiter and a couple of stars nothing like your advertising pictures food was nice but not 59 pounds worth two free drinks which one was put in our hands with no other choice so had a second drink of which we had to pay overall disappointing tried to cancel but was told I had to cancel with the shop were I bought the tickets which I had to do because of a disaster booking o line as this was Sunday I was unable to ring branch where I booked and paid.

The excursion was very informative and I felt we learnt a lot about the stars and planets. Our trip was unfortunately hampered a bit by cloud cover but the staff worked really hard to adapt the experience and make sure we felt we were not missing out. Very efficient mini bus driver. Meal and drinks ok, well structured with star gazing in between courses. Good, knowledgable experts, answered our questions and made the trip enjoyable. Learnt a lot and would recommend for an engaging evening. It happened to be a full moon so we got some good photos through the telescope on our cameras but this did make the sky lighter to spot the other constellations.

Rart og hyggeligt sted med venligt og imødekommende personale, god mad og fin service - og ovenikøbet diskret, levende musik. Det var virkelig hyggeligt. Guiderne til stjernehimlen var både vidende, engagerede og velformulerede og fortalte om Månen, planetern, stjernebillederne og om forskellen fra stjernehimlen i Europa. Der var to fine spejlteleskoper til rådighed, og alle fik lov at kigge og tage billede af Månen. Eneste minus var en del drivende skyer. Kan varmt anbefales for “stjernefolk”.

We were not picked up for the tour. We waited over an hour contacted TUI by the app then had to telephone. The operator was unable to give me any information and promised to contact me again advising to continue to wait. No-one picked us up or contacted us. Next day we spoke to TUI rep who said she was notified the afternoon before but had been at another hotel I asked why we had not been informed via the app she said it was her responsibility to send the message but didn't. Very disappointing

Although the staff did their best and were knowledgeable, you couldn't escape the basic problem that the night sky had thick cloud. A lot of time was spent awaiting breaks in the cloud cover to look for the stars and planets. The beach restaurant was very basic, the toilets likewise with crude washing facilities and no towels of any kind. The bbq meal was rudimentary. We think the evening would have been better cancelled because of the cloud cover and difficulty tracking the stars.

Gut organisiert und mittelmässig ausgeführt. Man hat den Sternenhimmel gut gesehen. Der Guide hat zwar viel geredet aber alles auf Englisch womit wir fast kein Wort verstanden haben. Food and drinks were good. Staff friendly. We were in a group of around 40 people and only 2 telescopes so basically had seconds to look at 3 planets. We missed the moon as it took too long. Ideally smaller groups or more telescopes needed to make the evening value for money. The main host kept getting the planets mixed up, we were viewing Jupiter but kept referring to it as Saturn. He informed the group afterwards that he was a marine biologist not an astronomer. We expected professionals.

The guides and star experience were good, engaging with my kids and tried to ensure all experienced the stars. Restaurant staff appeared to be more distracted by a “VIP” visit than looking after their paying guests. Whilst the food was good, it would have been nice to go round the buoy for seconds. I would have had a better experience by remaining at the hotel and going to the beach afterwards - the only thing missing would have been the guides knowledge and telescopes.

Too long a wait for food, telescope viewing and it was difficult to hear what was being explained.The features shown are all things anyone with an interest in astronomy will have already viewed. Venus, Jupiter and the moon. I was expecting more things such as nebulae and things not readily viewable in the Nothern hemisphere Food was described as a barbecue when it was in fact a buffet with the choice of fish or chicken .

An “ interesting” evening! However too many guests for 2 telescopes meant that there was A LOT of waiting - just sat down in the dark. we did this excursion in dec 2023 and enjoyed it so much that we booked again. We were very disappointed this time - although the telescopes (2 this time) were set up well and seeing the moon and jupiter were a highlight we will never forget. However the guide and staff were less engaged with the audience...there was less information about the local foods, less stories about the myths and beliefs connected to the stars. It was difficult to hear in the wind ....and he wasnt checking on people

Sterrenkijken was fantastisch. Zowel de lokale heer als de Nederlandse jongedame deden het leuk. Zij heeft me later ook nog apart de Orion-nevel aangewezen door de telescoop. Heel fijn! Wat ik minder vond, was het eettempo. TUI gids had mij verteld: voorgerecht-sterrenkijken-hoofdgerecht-sterrenkijken-nagerecht-sterrenkijken. Deze volgorde werd aangehouden. Echter vond ik de tijd voor het hoofdgerecht te beperkt (slechts 20minuten); bij een buffet mag je toch meer tijd voor diner nemen?

The staff were all fantastic. Very accommodating and well informed about star gazing and astronomy. The weather meant it was difficult to see everything in the sky but we still saw lots of constellations , the moon and Jupiter. A very unique experience. Lovely food and drink included as well.

The overall experience was absolutely amazing and what made it even more so was that when my companion told the staff she had to have gluten free food they produced something for her from scratch. The staff were very well qualified to answer all questions asked and pointed out where the various stars and planets were before focussing the telescopes on them Seeing Saturn and Jupiter was really special and we both said this was the highlight of our holiday What was there not to like?

De gids wist ontzettend veel van de sterren en planeten. Hij liep rond langs de gasten om zijn verhaal te vertellen, daarvoor was het niet altijd goed te verstaan omdat de afstand te groot was. De combinatie van om de beurt door de telescoop kijken, terwijl de gids door praat is erg rommelig. Oplossen door bijvoorbeeld de groep te verdelen en om de beurt laten eten en kijken. Ik ben trouwens meerdere keren geprikt door insecten.

Really nice trip to a beach restaurant for an evening of stargazing, picked up at the hotel and dropped back off at the end of the evening. Apart from the heavy cloud cover which was unavoidable, the whole evening was really well put together. The food was great with a good variety to suit all tastes and the live music was lovely. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and fun and although we were unable to see much in the way of stars, we all came away a lot more educated than we started the night...some of the information was mind blowing!! Would highly recommend.

An excellent evening with fantastic local food in a nice secluded beach front restaurant accompanied with some background music from a local singer. The host/guide was very informative about stars and constellations, offering views of the stars through the telescope. At the end of the evening we were walked onto the beach, with blankets provided, to lay on the beach and look up at the stars, finished off a pleasant evening perfectly

Was a lovely evening out with good food. However, we did let our Tui rep know in advance that we were both vegetarian. She phoned ahead to let the team know and we were assured this was all in hand. when we arrived, staff were not aware of this and served us a bowl of food without telling us what it was or asking for dietry requirementz first. We had to ask and were informed it was meat/fish. When we informed them we were vegetarian they were very quick to serve us a delicious vegetarian meal!

Leuke avond gehad op het strand. Afhankelijk van het weer kun je heel veel sterren(beelden) zien. De tourguides zijn zeer kundig en weten heel veel interessante dingen te vertellen over alles wat je ziet. Bijzonder ervaring om door de telescopen naar de sterren te kijken. Het eten is lekker, maar weinig bijzonders. Voor deze prijs hadden wij er iets meer van verwacht. Super leuke ervaring, maar twijfel of je echt waar krijgt voor je geld.

We hebben deze excursie geboekt met 2 kinderen. Alleen alles is in het Engels en gaat best vlug! Het woordje BBQ in de omschrijving van de excursie is een beetje misleidend want we hebben geen BBQ gezien en het eten was meer een klein buffet. Eten verder oke. 10 minuten wandeling aan het eind is niet geweest, tijd om? Enige + het enthousiasme van de gids en info dat was goed. In verhouding is de prijs duur omdat het een openbaar strand betreft waar je ook zelf naartoe kan gaan. Dat gezegd hebbende is het wel een leuke avond geweest en hebben we veel sterren gezien, en de telescoop gebruikt voor de maan, Jupiter en wat sterren. De begeleiding is een leuke groep die weet waar ze het over hebben. Het eten is goed, niet veel keuze maar wel ruim voldoende eten. De 2 drankjes per persoon zijn wel misleidend (1 verplichte die je als welkom krijgt), en 1 die je zelf bestelt

This turned out to be a pretty amazing experienced which exceeded our expectations. The food was great and the service excellent. Other than the drop in temperature caused by the wind predominantly, and the really important message to wear warm clothes, the location was perfect. Really knowledgeable guide and instructor which brought to life a previously mysterious series of constellations.

No live music which was advertised but i guess things do happen at short notice But not really a 'dark sky' experience and i suggest you change the description OR the event. Not a dark sky given we 10 metres from the restaurant which still had lights on loads of guests using phones and flashes etc!! We did go the the beach for approx. 10 minutes but this was almost an add on.

The whole experience was excellent. The information provided by the staff was fascinating and we were able to use the telescopes several times. We were lucky with the timing of our visit and the weather conditions but I have seen reviews where others have not had the same experience. However, I think that if people understand that the experience is totally dependant on conditions at the time then there should be no cause for complaint.

It was great. The only issue was you couldn’t hear everything the guide said about the stars. He 100% needed a microphone. We were sat in a semi circle and when he turned his back to talk to one side of the group you couldn’t hear him, and other people thought that was not good too. My mum couldn’t hear anything as she has earring aids and the sea was sometimes a loud back noise. I hope they take this on board to make the night work better.

Really good fun, with knowledgeable guides, who made it an excellent experience. The time we each had on the telescopes was enough. The only downside is this experience is absolutely dependent upon the weather. We were reasonably lucky and the clouds only impacted on the viewing of Saturn. The viewing of Jupiter, the moon, and the Orion nebula were not affected.

This has to be one of the best experiences we have had. Led by Geordy and his team, we were laughing and learning throughout the evening. Having local food and knowledge was a bonus. What you see is dependent on nature... ie cloud, bright moons, winds etc..but the team are so experienced they can adapt the evening. No question was too basic or too complex - they responded to everyone at the right level. It was magical - inspiring me to discover more. Thank you for this evening

Fantastic experience with the most knowledgable team you could ask for when it came to the stargazing. Some fantastic live music whilst we ate our food which was lovely local cuisine which we found to be the best food we ate all week. It was a beautiful location and experience like nothing we’d done before with the telescopes fantastic quality to be able to see the stars and planets above us with expert guidance.

We enjoyed the experience of stargazing and the guides were very knowledgeable about the planets and the solar system. Sharing two telescopes between all the party was a little slow at times. Also we did have some cloud cover which obviously couldn't be helped. This was the second attempt for our trip, the original booking was cancelled due to having total cloud. Food was good, a lovely evening out.

Excellent overall, a third telescope would be better as there was quite often a queue to look at the moon & planets and I felt a little pressure to not spend too long looking because of the queue behind me. Magical experience nonetheless

We enjoyed the trip but unfortunately it was a very cloudy night so it was a bit restrictive on what we could see. The guides were very interesting and done their best to make up for the lack of stars.

A fascinating, informative evening, the staff were so knowledgeable and made it fun as well. The food was excellent and the setting delightful. It was cloudy at times but we managed to see some planets. On the Ad it tells you to take warm clothes that’s not a joke it got very cold. If you’re going to any do this great value for money.

This was definitely the highlight of my trip. The staff talks passionately about stars, know a lot, really impressive. The dinner was very tasty and with nice atmosphere, and the arrangement really nice. I would do it again and again. We watched Saturn, Iupiter and moon via telescope.

Excellent excursion. Thankfully a clear night allowed us to use the telescope to is potential. The staff (Jordi especially) was both knowledgeable and full of good humour. The food was also excellent.

We did this trip when in Boa Vista so decided to do it when in Sal. The guide was very informative it was a very good evening. It has only been running for 2 months, would recommend it to have a close up view of the moon and also Venus via telescope was breath taking.

The overall process was nice, the staff was lovely, however it was really cloudy and couldn't see anything except for the moon. I would recommend if possible rescheduling the event in case it is really really cloudy, I believe there is weather info available at least 24hrs in advance, as this really defeated the very purpose of this event. Probably just unlucky this time ??

The experience was how it was expected as described by our fantastic rep Kirsty service and staff at the venue were professional and very friendly food was excellent we did not see all we wanted due to a cloudy evening but this was explained to us as a risk before hand truly a great time thank you

The best night of the holiday. The guides were vert knowledgeable giving us lots of information. The restaurant staff were very friendly and the food and drink was so much better than we’ve experienced on previous trips. Overall an awesome experience would definitely recommend this experience to everyone.

We enjoyed seeing the moon and some stars through the telescope however unlike in Boa Vista where my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter went 4 months ago, the experience in Sal was somewhat disappointing and did not meet my expectations. For example, unlike in Boa Vista, we were not given mats/blankets to lie on to look up at the stars and did not go further than outside the dining area for 20+ people to take it in turn to look through the one Telescope.
