What to expect
Een dag vol cultuur, spiritualiteit en smaak. Je bezoekt drie van de belangrijkste tempels in de provincie Phang Nga - de Dragon Cave, Bang Rieng Pagoda en Manee Sri Mahathat.
Eerst bekijk je de Dragon Cave Tempel. Deze is gebouwd in en op kalksteengrotten, en is even indrukwekkend als mooi. De monniken maken er genezende middeltjes. De Bang Rieng Pagode Tempel vind je hoog in de bergen. Het heeft een mix van Thaise en Chinese invloeden, en je kijkt er geweldig uit op de omgeving.
De laatste tempel is Manee Sri Mahathat. Je ziet een collectie wassen beelden van Indiase, Chinese...

The temples tour was very enlightening, our guide was very knowledgeable, she had plenty of facts to keep us educated on the day. Transfers were easy, at each temple we we offered refreshments which were gratefully received...the Air conditioned Minivan a welcome sanctuary from the extreme hear Full marks to both guide and driver

The mini bus was quite cramped with every seat taken. Saw 3 Temples. Shoes on and off a lot of the time and your feet got dirty, they do give you a wipe for this. The first Temple was in a cave. There were 235 steps you had to do in bare feet. Then then went to 2 more temples. No steps but quite a lot of time outside in the humidity. Lunch was pretty nice with a few different dishes. Got a blessing by a monk and received a bracelet. I think you do need a level of fitness to get up the steps.

Volker war ein super Guide. Er hat uns sehr viele Hintergrundinformationen zur Verfügung gestellt, Kulturell wie historisch als auch religiös. Die Tour wurde von ihm so orgsnisiert, dass wir die einzige Gruppe an den Orten waren. Daher sehr ruhig und entspannt. Alles in allem sehr interessanter und schöner Ausflug

Sehr gute Information über Buddhismus und dessen Götter. Vieles Neues dazu gelernt und das Bild vom Glauben in Asien bedeutend erweitert. Sehr anstregender Ausflug bei 35 grad. Viele Treppen in der letzten Tempelhöhle. Man konnte auch Abstand nehmen vom Treppensteigen. Ständig erfrischende Getränke und Zugang zu Toiletten. Mittag war sehr gut und reichlich.

The temples were beautiful but very quiet. Transport was very cramped and not fit for purpose. Combined with a very fast driver, this was a forgettable experience. Also no PA system in the transport so we missed most of what was said to the other guests.

A thoroughly enjoyable day in which we learned about the Buddhist philosophy and Thai culture generally. Our guide was Jasmine who was extremely knowledgeable, personable and entertained us with stories and humour for the whole day. Our driver was efficient and courteous providing us with an endless supply of drinks and cool hand wipes on what was a very hot day. Excellent value for money and would highly recommend with Jasmine as the guide

An amazing excursion that we thoroughly enjoyed, our guide Mark was fantastic and very informative about the temples, Buddhism and thai culture, answering any questions with ease. Lunch at the restaurant we were taken to was excellent and a lovely setting. Whilst it wasn't an issue for us, I think at the time of booking it should be made clear the number of steps to climb at the first temple (approx 500) with the last ones being more like steep ladders, so certainly not suitable for everyone

A very long day visiting three temple sites that in my opinion are not authentic, they are set up purely for tourism. Monks are sitting on their phones, taking 'donations'. It felt very Disneyland and not worth the long day of driving. Plus our tour guide admitted he was working illegally and was a very patronising and bitter ex monk himself. I would suggest the true path to enlightenment is to stop being so angry that you never found it.

Les temples choisis étaient, très beau,x le repas dans un magnifique restaurant et très bon, le troisième temple est un peu sportif, monter 235 marches et plus, n,'est pas à portée de tous. Seul point négatif, la guide ne parlait pas français ( alors que j'avais demandé et payé pour ça) et les4 autres touristes, non plus, seul bémol à l'excursion.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about each temple and the history and current day usage of it. They understood the religious implications and and the day-to-day way that monks lived. The lunchtime meal was one of the best we had when we’ve been on excursions and the view over the river was incredible lots of travelling between the temples but this was safe and gave us great views of the rainforest the last temple visit to the cave temple does involve lots of steps and in the heat isn’t easy.

Det första templet i grottan var över förväntan. Grottan är unik o väl värd att se. Det är många trappsteg men inte jobbiga att gå i. Det finns stegar som man kan låta bli om man är höjdrädd som jag. Andra templet var också väldigt fint och värt att se. Sista templet kunde förkortas lite. Det stora buddan och de fascinerande vaxdockorna är dock sevärda. Guiden var mycket trevlig och kunnig. Mån om säkerhet och att alla hade det bra. Maten god men lite smaklös/turistanpassad.

Ich war erst unschlüssig ob ich diese Tour buchen sollte, aber ich bin so froh es getan zu haben. Die Tour ist einfach einmalig und unsere Tour Guide Jasmin hat so viel Wissenswertes berichtet. Zudem war sie und auch der Fahrer rundum darauf bedacht, dass es uns an nichts fehlt. Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen diese Tour zu machen, sehr beeindruckend und für mich das beste Erlebnis.

The staff couldn’t really speak English. Struggled with words on the tour so you couldn’t even ask questions. You also couldn’t hear here so missed out on a lot. Ended up having to pick bits up from other tour guides and doing own research.

Eine sehr schöne Tour. Die Tempel sind wirklich sehenswert. Unsere Reiseleitung Yasmin sprach sehr gut deutsch und hat alles mit Herzblut erklärt. Der Fahrer war stets mit Erfrischungstüchern und kalten Getränken in der Nähe. Das Mittagessen mit wunderschönem Ausblick war sehr lecker. Allem in einem ein schöner Ausflug mit tollen Eindrücken.

Es war eine tolle Tour. Unser Guide Volker hat uns unglaublich viele interessante Details zum Buddhismus und Thailand näher gebracht. Die Tempel waren sehenswert, besonders der Königstempel sehr beeindruckend. Es gab genügend zu Trinken und das Essen direkt an einer Lagune sehr schmackhaft. Fin tur, vi besøker 3 veldig ulike templer, en av de var kongelig tempel i provinsen, så der måtte man også ha noen ekstra forberedelser til (ingen sokker, lange bukser, dekket skuldre - også for menn). Siste tempel krever at du klarer å gå 300 trapper opp i alle fall, men fantastisk opplevelse med en grotte tempel + veldig fin utsikt på toppen.

Der Höhlentempel hat uns nicht so gut gefallen, die anderen zwei Tempel sind wunderschön. Das Mittagessen im Mangrovenwald war sehr gut, auch die Lage des Restaurants hat uns richtig gut gefallen. Die Reiseleiterin hat zwar viel geredet und sich viel Mühe gegeben, leider konnte sie nicht fließend deutsch sprechen, das war sehr schade, weil dadurch Informationen nicht so gut verständlich waren.

The trip was very long . It was long time between temples to be sitting on a hot bus . People should be made aware how many stairs they are expected to climb before booking . The guide was really informative and knowledgeable There were plenty of drinks given through out the journey . The food for lunch was amazing . There were vegans on our trip and the guide made sure food was prepared for those people as well as the people who ate meat and fish. The trip is long so be aware of that . .

Great guide for the tour. She was wonderful and knowledgeable. The first temple requires lots of steps! Please warn people of this before they pay/book. It also is not suitable for anyone who struggles with heights. We had a great day other than the decrepid old minibus we had to endure with almost no air-con or suspension. It made travelling in the back very uncomfortable for the number of hours we travelled.

Der wundervolle zweite Tempel war sehr sehenswert. Nach unserem Geschmack wären eine Zwreitempeltour völlig ausreichend, da man doch länger als erwartet im Auto sitzt. Das ist auch anstrengend. Das Mittagessen war sehr lecker und wir wurden stets mit Erfrischungstücher und kalten Getränken versorgt und hatten die Möglichkeit eine Toilette aufzusuchen.

Es war alle pünktlich. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten waren sehr beeindruckend. Es wurde vor allem ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis durch den Reiseführer Twan. Er vermittelte uns seine Erlebnisse als Mönch. so konnte er sehr authentisch über den Buddhismus berichten. Diese Tour sollte jeder machen, wenn er direkt Wissen vermittelt bekommen möchte und mit den Tempeln beindruckende Gebäude sehen möchte.

Gift, our tour guide was friendly and informative, from the start, to the end of the tour. She bought all our experiences alive. Thank you for being an amazing tour guide. The driver was also was also very good. The food at lunch time was okay, but but not very warm. The view was good. Overall, it was a great day out ??

Jib, the guide, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The driver was fantastic and the actual tour was fantastic. One point to note is that the details on the app didn't mention the number of steps required to access Dragon Cave Temple. Not an issue for the majority, however; another couple had booked without being aware. They had mobility issues and could not take part in that part of the tour.

Abholung war nur im Nachbarhotel 1,4 km.entfernt möglich sind dahin gelaufen,das war nicht optimal,sonst alles sehr gut, interessant und sehr gut erläutert von Tourguid Aris!!!

Diese Tour ist unglaublich toll! Wir hatten in Volker einen wirklich sehr sympathischen Guide mit einem unerschöpflichen Wissen und der die Besonderheiten jedes einzelnen Tempels sowie die Religion und Kultur dahinter uns allen Nahe bringen konnte. Auch unsere Tourgruppe ( insgesamt 12 Personen) war sehr harmonisch und wissbegierig, was interessante Fragen und noch interessantere Antworten hervorbrachte. Ein super Tag!

Unser Reiseleiter Volker war einfach hervorragend! Von Anfang bis Ende war die Tour perfekt organisiert. Er hat uns mit seinem umfangreichen Wissen über die Kultur, Geschichte und die beeindruckenden Tempelanlagen begeistert. Besonders beeindruckend war seine herzliche und freundliche Art, die uns sofort wohlfühlen ließ. Die Stopps an den Tempeln und den Aussichtspunkten waren gut geplant, und wir hatten genug Zeit, alles in Ruhe zu erkunden und tolle Fotos zu machen.

Jenny vores turguide var virkelig go’ til at forklare om de forskellige templer, kulture og skikke. Lange distancering bus imellem templerne bør nævnes. I turbeskrivelsen står at man ved det sidste tempel møder aber. Det er ikke korrekt. Vi var ved et helt andet tempel og sted. Men alt i alt en dejlig tur.

Opas ja kuljettaja olivat ystävällisiä ja palvelualttiita. Oppaalla oli valtavasti tietoa ja hän kertoi kattavasti tarinoita. Ensimmäisen luolatemppelin rappujen/tikkaiden kiipeäminen tuli meille yllätyksenä ja tästä pitäisi ehdottomasti mainita etukäteistiedoissa ettei sovellu liikuntatajoitteisille 300 jyrkän portaan vuoksi. Lisäksi oli pettymys että kolmanteen temppeliin ei päästy sisälle. Muuten retki sujui hyvin ja lounas oli maittava.

We enjoyed all 3 temples but I don’t the 3rd one was necessary it was a good day but 1st one was lovely in the cave but the steps climbing up was a bit dangerous and you had to walk up in bear feet half way up. All in all it was lovely day the guide was excellent and the driver and lunch was fabulous

Top Service, von Pünktlichkeit der Abholung, der Fahrt, bis hin zu den Informationen der Reiseleitung, alles super. Gutes Mittagessen dazwischen, sehr schöne Location. Brilliant tour. Professionally organised. First two temples were amazing. Dragon's Cave was very atmospheric with lovely views across valley. 235 steps to climb but this was not too much work! Pagoda temple was simply stunning. These two temples were the highlight. Third was ok and worth visiting for the blessing from monk. Lunch was lovely, great selection of Thai food. Gift, our guide, was brilliant. Lovely person and really gives a insight into Thailand culture. Thanks to Mr Best the driver.

wir staunten über die wunderschönen Tempelanlagen, welches die Erbauer dieser Tempel geschaffen haben. es ist toll, diese Tempel für die Nachwelt so gut zu erhalten. Eine perfekt geführte und informative Super Tour! Schöne Tempelanlagen mit wunderbaren Blick, in und um die Tempel herum! Natur pur! Ein thailändischen Guide,der vieles erklärt und beschrieben hat und sprachlich sehr gut zu verstehen war! Kommt daher,daß er bevor er "Volker" Thailander wurde,1nen deutschen Pass hatte! Wir hatten diese Tour vor Jahren mal gemacht und sind Wiederholungstäter und können sie bedenkenlos weiter empfehlen!

Die Tour war einfach super. Unser Guide Volker bzw. Sam Chei war top vorbereitet. Die einzelnen Tempel konnte er mit seinem enormen Fundus an Fachwissen näherbringen und die Begeisterung dieser Anlagen gegenüber noch erhöhen. Alles in allem ein super Urlaub. Minuspunkte muss ich jedoch für die Getränkepreise geben. Die sind im Hotel viel zu hoch. Weiter ist das Essen für meinen Geschmack zuviel europäisch. Wenn ich in einem fremden Land bin, will ich nicht essen wie zu Hause. Und auf die Personen welche am Morgenessen einpacken für den ganzen Tag sollte auch ein Auge geworfen werden nicht nur auf die, welche die viel zu wenigen liegen bereits um 07.00 Uhr reservieren.

The exquisite guide and driver with all their knowledge, patience and warm made this excursion magnificent. My husband and myself came away not only wanting more, but full of such great knowledge that we could never have received if we went to the temples alone. We were blown away by the most amazing architecture, images and artwork. Truly the most amazing excursion that everyone should enjoy. Unser Guide Volker hat ein unglaubliches Wissen über Tempel und Buddhismus. Auch die ein oder andere Anekdote wurde von ihm äußerst amüsant erzählt. Einfach Spitze. Die Tour hat großen Spaß gemacht, auch wenn in dem Höhlentempel die Beleuchtung defekt war. Zum Glück gibt es bei Smartphones eine Taschenlampenfunktion.

Somchai (Volker) hat uns sehr viel erklärt und erzählt. Wir haben viel gesehen und auch viel gehört. Obendrein wurden wir sowohl von ihm als auch von seinem Fahrer bestens betreut. Die Tour ist absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die sich auch für die thailändische Kultur interessieren. Wir waren sehr begeistert und sagen nochmals 1000 Dank.

Die Tempel sind sehr sehenswert! Wir hatten einen klasse Tourguide (Volker). Er hat uns viel erzählt und sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben, uns einen schönen Tag zu ermöglichen. Kleiner Hinweis, der Höhlentempel wird wohl auch Schlangentempel genannt, da es dort Schlangen gibt. Wir sind aber keiner begegnet und unser Guide hat jeden Raum gesichert bevor wir rein sind. Ich bin erst etwas skeptisch gewesen wegen der Schlangen, aber völlig zu Unrecht. Es ist wirklich eine ganz tolle Tour/Erfahrung!

Oil was amazing: friendly, caring, and telling a lot about what we were seeing. She had a very good way of explaining things. One note for the future visitors: if you don't want to get your feet dirty, I suggest you get a pair of socks with you (they are accepted in temples). In one temple, you won't be able to wear socks because there is sand, but non-alcoholic wipes are provided by the Oil at the exit.

Volker war ein klasse Guide, hat sehr viel interessantes über Land und Leute erzählt. Der Aufstieg zum dritten Tempel ist nicht für jedermann machbar, insgesamt ging es knapp 300 Stufen hoch. Dafür wurde man oben angekommen mit einem phänomenalen Ausblick belohnt.

Had an interesting and informative day trip. The 12 seaters air conditioned van arrived on time. The tour guide (Gift) and driver (James) were excellent. There was lots of information not only about the Temples we were visiting but also the culture and customs of the region. We stopped for local snacks, had lunch at an amazing roadside restaurant with fantastic views over a river and got to see a monk who ran one of the Temples. Highly recommended and worth the money paid!!

Very good tour. Especially the guide called "Gift" was excellent. She spoke very fluent english and had a personal take on buddhism. Food was excellent and the location of the restaurant was absolutely marvellous.

Diese Tour ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die drei Tempel können unterschiedlicher nicht sein. Unser Guide Volker hat uns mit vielen Informationen rund um den Buddhismus versorgt, aber auch viel Interessantes über Land und Leute berichtet.

Die thailändische Reiseleiterin, hat in einem gut verständlichen Englisch zu den einzelnen Stationen sehr viele Informationen vermittelt. Insgesamt waren die Tempelanlagen sehr beeindruckend und haben einen Einblick in die buddhistische Religion vermittelt. Das Mittagessen erfolgte in einem sehr schön gelegenen Restaurant mit Blick auf einen Fluss. Die Tour ist unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen.

Somchy (Johnnie Walker, Volker) war spitzemmässig, er nahm sich liebevoll die Zeit einem alles zur thailändischen Kulter und weit darüber hinaus zu erklären, wir waren absolut begeistert.

The day started off with meeting our tour guide and driver for the day we had Jenni and Mooa, they were brilliant. Temple one I wouldn’t advise those with limited mobility to do this one as you have to climb makeshift steel steps up (by 300) and into a cave for the temple - it was really interesting and Jenni showed us and we joined in the prayer to the Buddha which was interesting and really comforting to join in the tradition - temples 2 and 3 wow! Food was amazing where we stopped off at !

Es war ein spannender und informativer Tag mit unserem super sympathischen Guide Jonny Walker (Volker). Alle drei Tempel waren einen Besuch wert und Jonny hat uns auch während den Autofahrten immer wieder tolle Geschichten und Hintergrundinformationen erzählt. Das Mittagessen im Restaurant in den Mangroven war lecker und überall waren genug WCs vorhanden. Alles in allem, ein toller Tag mit Jonny!

Lovely tour to get an insight into the history of the temples and Buddhism. Our guide, Gift (nickname) was very informative and friendly. She even bought us some local fried banana as a snack which was so nice! The drive to the temples were long but worth the journey as some were truly amazing. Overall great experience.

Loved the whole day. The temples were amazing, especially the dragons cave and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The lunch was very good and the restaurant was lovely. Don’t have anything negative at all to say about this tour. Maybe a little warning about the steps at the dragons cave. This didn’t affect us at all but there was a lady in our group with restricted mobility who couldn’t climb them. For me it was well worth the climb.

It was amazing, an wonderful enlightening experience. The guide and driver were excellent, informative and attentive. Contrasting temples and interesting backstories, I would really recommend it to get a tiny insight into Buddhism and see some fabulous structures. Location for lunch had a lovely view. Can’t fault this one. I’d say not ideal for children.

Our tour guide Oil was absolutely fantastic. Very passionate about the temples and religion and happy to answer all questions. She is passionate and caring and looked after each person on the tour. Each temple is beautiful for different reasons. Wear light clothing that cover shoulders and knees and mosquito repellent. Areas on this trip is very humid.

The Flights was very long. Due to the conflict in Ukraine, we had to take a detour around the Caspian Sea. This prolonged the trip both ways by 45 mins. During the flight there were only 2 servings. The food served, was sub standard, and you had to pay for drink to go with the food. The kids on the plane were served first which was ok, but the "Grown-Ups" were not served before 30-45 mins after. The bread was not heated, which resulted in semi frozen loafs of something that reminded us of bricks. The Tax-Free stuff onboard, was sold out (most of it), and the selection of stuff was really poor.

Great tour - very knowledgeable guide. Good value for money. Advance info about the tour from Tui could be improved. Length of tour described as 4-8 hours, finishing with lunch, but it actually lasted the whole day (9.5 hours). No advice on wearing footwear that can be easily removed at temples, taking mosquito repellant etc.
