This walking tour ends on a high, with a stop at a winery for a tasting. You’ll start at the town’s showpiece landmark, the Gothic St Stephen’s Cathedral. This place watches over Breisach from its perch on a volcanic cliff. You’ll get to peer inside the church, which was completely destroyed in World War Two bombings and took 20 years to rebuild. Next, you’ll head underground to the famous Geldermann wine cellar. This 600-year-old vaulted cellar is kept at 13 degrees at all times and holds bottle after bottle of sparkling wine. After a short film, you’ll get a guided tour of the cellar, before sitting down for a tasting. You can wrap your taste buds around three of Geldermann’s wines, before strolling back to the ship.
