In the case of long queues, if it is not possible to visit the interior of the Cathedral, you will be offered a guided tour of Piazza dei Cavalieri as an alternative

Guide was doing his job and explained the various items about the cathedral and Pisa but it felt robotic and like a recorded tour. There was no enthusiasm and was like someone was just reading from a book. We had multiple tours in Italy and never felt like that with any other guide/tour.
