A major work of Gothic art, this church was the first to place a great importance on light, a symbol of divinity, in religious architecture.

The Basilica could be closed on some dates due to temporary events. Please check the closure dates on the official website
From October to April conditions can be chilly inside the monument and so we advise visitors to dress warmly
Nine steps to enter the royal necropolis, 15 steps to enter the crypt and 15 steps to enter the upper choir
No dogs except for guide dogs for visually impaired visitors
The monument is closed on 1st January, 1st May, 25th December and during some religious celebrations
Free admission for children under 18 years, EU citizens (18-25), disabled people and their companion, French unemployed people, Pass Education holders
Free admission for all visitors on the first Sunday of each month from November to March and on the European Heritage Days (the third weekend of September)
