Was good to get a snapshot of both sites & some food in one day. The guide was good-keeping us informed & giving the key information. The starter was good & also nice to get a beer included, however the main course of Aubergine pasta was poor quality, both the pasta & the aubergine. The cake for desert average. Fair enough a vegetable pasta, but the pasta needs to be better quality & vegetables too.

The sites were great, the tour guide was really good. However the 2 sites are a lot to do in 1 day. By the end of the day people were struggling to get around Herculaneum and many people sat down and waited for the guide to return from various areas. Our tour group were mainly in the 60+ age group, and in the heat many found it exhausting.

The tour of Pompeii was good and the guide provided interesting details. The latest section being excavated was particularly interesting and the walkway above the excavations provided a great way to see the details of the buildings. Lunch was terrible. The food was poor quality and poorly presented with very small portions. The restaurant staff wete rude and surly. Our guide seemed to have lost intetest by the time we got to Hercalaneum and seemed to be keen to get us back on the bus asap!

Our guide Roberta was amazing. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable able to answer any questions. We didn’t feel rushed and was very organised. The lunch was actually really nice. I’ve read reviews about the lunch not being great but 3 courses and a gluten free option for every one was great! The pizzas were massive The coach driver was great great also, the coach was clean and air conditioning worked

The guide was great, so knowledgeable. There were a few people in our group who struggled a bit with mobility and the heat which made it slow going at times especially in Herculaneum. I would’ve liked to have seen the boat houses at the bottom where the people tried to hide. In our group some wouldn’t have got down there let alone back up again.

Pompeii wasnt that impressive but the guide Hugo took is around the Herculaneum which blew my mind! This was much smaller and more accessible and better preserved. The buses and extra transfers to our hotel were on time and we'll arranged. Guides were good. It felt like Pompeii would have worked better without a guide in some ways. The worst part was the food/meal. The quality wasn't that good in general. But also for my wife who is celiac, the gluten free options basically just meant less food!

Absolutely amazing day, our guide, Dana I think her name was. Probably not how you spell it but she was lovely, very knowledgeable and just generally upbeat and enthusiastic despite the absolutely scorching weather. Hugo, our guide at Herculaneum was also fantastic and you could tell he was passionate about what he was telling us about. The lunch was lovely and the air con was even lovelier. Our driver was brilliant got us there safely and him selling water was very convenient. Needed free time.

Pick ups fine, minibus and driver fine. Guide excellent - funny and very informative. Lunch very poor. Staff surly, food average at best. Wife and I both had upset stomachs which we put down to the food served there.

We were looking forward to going back to Pompei and Herculaneum, but we were in Italy during a heatwave so decided that an archaeological dig wasn't the best place to be in 40 degree heat. We knew that we had left it too late to cancel and get a refund, but we were unable to cancel at all, and the tour guide still thought we would be attending. There should be some way to cancel even after the full refund period has passed.

The rep was fantastic lots of information presented to us in a fun and entertaining way She persuaded the driver to drop us as close to our chosen hotels as possible instead of the communal pick up point. This was very much appreciated at the end of a long hot day

Very knowledgeable guides who took us to the most interesting parts of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Lunch was really well organised and the service, excellent. My only moan was that the pick up was a good 20 minute walk from my hotel along a busy, narrow road with no footpath in parts.

Overall, the trip was well organised and food was great. Transport was excellent too. I think, for us, half day would have been better as we had a very hot day. It felt a bit repetitive doing both Pompeii & Herculaneum in a day so by time we got to Herculaneum in afternoon, we were too hot & tired to do anymore. We’ve combined Pompeii with Vesuvius in the past and preferred this trip, however this too would have been difficult with the extreme heat we had on this day.

The first part of the tour, Pompeii and lunch were good, Herculaneum however was disappointing. The reason being, one of the guests had a medical issue late morning. The guest did not attend the Herculaneum tour however our tour guide had to manage the medical logistics which took place during the Herculaneum tour, constant phone calls were taken with the guided tour communication on were transmitted to the group and impacted the tour and the guide herself. We debriefed our TUI rep at the hotel.

Had a great guide in Martina. It was incredibly hot but so incredibly amazing, it takes your breath away and blows your mind with what has been achieved with the excavations. To see that a new village has been built on top of the ruins at Herculeum is hard to get your head around. You can’t visit Sorrento without viewing these two places. Great lunch provided too

Our lady guide (sorry cannot remember her name) was not only excellent but obviously had a genuine interest in the history of both sites and was exceptionally knowledgeable. we had two hours at each site - i personally would have liked longer (my wife would have liked less!!) BUT to fit both sites and lunch in - i understand why . i do recommend this trip

Cynthia was an excellent tour guide. Enjoyed the visits to both sites. Balance of time spent at each site could be adjusted to allow slightly more time at Pompeii, due to the difference in area. Lunch was average.

Everything was excellent, our guide, Desiree, was absolutely brilliant she clearly has a great passion for her work. She gave us loads of information and answered all our questions, full of knowledgeon her subject and really lovely to everyone. The lunch was great and the staff helpful with those that needed a change in menu, nothing was too much trouble. We felt safe in the hands of our driver which is not easy on the Sorrento roads!

Great tour overall and our guide was fantastic. He was friendly, polite, funny and most importantly knowledgeable We would have liked to have seen more of Pompeii but time constraints left us wanting more. Walking tours move at the slowest person’s speed, so leaves fitter people a little frustrated….it didn’t take much away from the tour though as it was still very enjoyable

Two guided tours in one day is maybe a bit much in one day, especially in the heat. We had to cut the Herculaneum tour shirt & seek shade to sit down. Not the guides fault, he was very good. We later found out that he did not include the Artifacts museum on site, during his tour. We made our own way there & enjoyed it, but the rest of our group missed out. It is a very good option as, besides being interesting, it is air conditioned. A welcome bit of respite on a blistering hot day.

Trip of a lifetime. Unforgettable sights of lived ancient history. Especially enjoyed Herculaneum as the archotecture was so well preserved and the depth of the mudslide surrounding it was so vivid.

It was May and it was a cloudy day, so there was no heat in the day. The guide was excellent and was very knowledgeable of the history of Pompeii . Our group stayed in contact with the guide through audio Bluetooth hearing aids and we all understood the talk. The lunch was more than adequate but the restaurant owner had not counted enough of our group so there was a delay. Pompeii is a wonderful historical site. 9hrs in total but worth the extra time for the knowledge gained. Would recommend.

This was a very enjoyable, interesting experience. Martina was a fantastic guide who navigated us through the highlights of Pompei and Herculaneum and could answer all our questions about the sites. The lunch was also very good. We packed a lot into one day and we would love to go back and explore Pompei further after this excellent introduction.

Getting into Pompei was mayhem. Crowds and then cruise groups barging their was through the queue. People were talking about leaving space in case there was a surge or fight -both were possible. Eventually the police were called and it was somewhat better. Second guide at Herculaneum was dull and missed most of the highlights. First guide and driver good.

Everything was excellent. The guide, Ralph, was fantastic and was clearly very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject. It’s also very appreciated that as a traveller with a gluten allergy lunch was catered for my dietary needs with great consideration.

-coach travel is perfect -tour of both pompeii and Herculaneum -tour guide was absolutely brilliant! Ernesto was very informative, kind and an overall great tour guide -lunch was good, just the right amount of food and not too far away from pompeii. Very inquisitive of allergens to ensure everyone is safe and happy. -overall great experience. Limited chance to roam any ruins yourself however the experience with the tour guide is worth it.

Our tour guide Ernesto was excellent, incredibly professional, knowledgeable & passionate. He shared lots of context about the history of the locations, which made the tour very interesting. The lunch at the restaurant was better than expected too which was a bonus!

The other guide repeated a lot but I understand this guide may be new and learning the craft- his passion and enthusiasm are not in question but too much repetition of the same facts and information. Driver excellent and site for interest and historical significance is hard to rival. Well worth visiting.

The lunch felt like a surprising luxury. The sites were incredible to see although it was a lot of walking over uneven ground on a hot day. I felt a sense of achievement when we finished. It wasn’t easy for me personally.

The tour guides were very informative regarding both sites and local areas. The time was limited on arrive and departure to the sites, to get a drink and go to the toilet. Lunch was disappointing, the staff were rude and impatient. The meal fell well below the standards we expected from a TUI organised lunch.

Great
Pompeii was too tourists orientated. Looked like it is having a Disney makeover. Herculaneum on the other hand was splendid. The coach, guide were terrific and the lunch was mediocre.

Trip is quite expensive. Even though I said trip was expensive it is still a very good trip and very informative. The guides English speaking where fantastic Dana & Luigi? Very impressed with there knowledge and how they guided us through the tour with a really friendly approach. The driver of the bus also Luigi? Very skilful driving through very busy Italian traffic dodging the many scooters. A very nice three course lunch dividing up our day. Overall a brilliant day. Would recommend.

Pick up/drop off point needs to be reassed. We were picked up from Due Golfe Hotel which was a 15 minute brisk walk: much of which was along a busy road with no footpath. It was unsafe to walk along and the final junction to cross to and from Due Golfe was extremely hazardous as there were blind bends in the road with fast moving traffic. Other tour operators are picking up from the centre of San Agata where the public buses stop and turn.

Average
Guide was great but had 6 French only speaking people on an English speaking tour. In trying to include them with great difficulty it made our experience poor. Not sure this was the guides fault. Also 35 people on the tour which was far too many and spent most of the time trying to herd us together.

We checked in with guide at pick up point and she ticked us off then she went off and greeted others and then led them off to the bus at the end of the tunnel and forgot about us - if we had not chased I think they would have left without us.
