Escursione alle Gole di Imbros

Excellent hike finishing at a taverna. Nice hour or so at a beach later. Very good guide named Christina.

A long journey from Cactus Royal to Imbros Gorge. The arduous trek through the Gorge is not easy.Its hot and water is a must.Hard wearing shoes also.The guide was very informative from beginning to end,ensuring a good trip

The pick up was prompt, our guide was friendly and well informed and the journey to the gorge was pleasant with a a nice stop along the way. walking the Imbros Gorge was not difficult to walk but very rewarding and could be done comfortably in good footwear. The end of the walk rendezvous worked well and all this created a very pleasant experience.

Great guide full of knowledge and really made sure times and instructions were repeated many times. The walk was hard going and hot but totally worth it. Saw the goats and loads of photo opportunities. Lunch was purchased, plenty of choice, homemade and good price. It was a long transfer due to many pick ups but comfy coach and nice and cool.

A really fantastic trip, a smooth air conditioned coach ride with a knowledgeable guide, a stop off for a Greek pitta filled with cheese and topped with honey before a hike through a beautiful gorge. The walk took slightly less time than expected, which meant more time in the taverna. The gorge was followed by a trip to the beautiful beach of Frangokastello. It was a shame that we couldn't stay longer! A wonderful day and our 8 year old and 11 year old coped fine with the distance and terrain.

We went from castello village resort and it was a 12 hour day. You will spend a lot of time on the coach but it does mean you see a lot of the island. There are plenty of stops at tavernas and sight seeing spots. The gorge is very impressive but the hiking is over quite rough terrain so make sure your footwear is up to it.

A pleasant walk in impressive surroundings, peaceful, lots to observe and enjoy. Terrain is uneven but no great challenge for the sure footed. Walking shoes/boots are a must as it could easily be ankle twisting territory. The final part of the walk became very hot so the beer at the taverna was welcomed. Lovely beach for a swim/cool down. You can leave items on the bus rather than carrying beach wear down the gorge which was handy. Useful information given by Anna our friendly guide.

Pickup time was spot on and the guide was very helpful. She was also friendly and knowledgeable about the island. The hike itself was lovely. It’s very stony underfoot so would definitely recommend proper shoes for this, we both wished we had our walking boots instead of just walking shoes, just for the extra ankle support they offer. Wear sunscreen and a hat and take fluid, it was hot! It was a bit crowded at the start with so many in the group but that sorted as people found their speed. The only niggle was the coach air-con wasn’t working properly so it was very hot, but once that was made known and someone actually said something the driver opened up some rooftop vents and we had a lovely breeze coming in. Francocastello beach was nice at the end of the trip for a cooling dip in the sea and a drink in one of the tavernas,.
