Excellent
We did the Mdina guided tour, 1/2 day with 2 adults and 1 toddler (18 months). We booked online easily. We were collected from our hotel at the stated time, after a little worry about being in the right place at the right time - I never like relying on automated confirmation emails to these kinds of bookings - which was all we had! A follow-up call may have helped ease my nerves of “missing the bus”! The tour guide (Josephine) was great and understanding of us needing to manage an infant/toddler, and we did not feel rushed at any point. Minibus drivers for the transfers and the tour itself were also very helpful and calm drivers. The tour ended up as a bilingual tour, with half the group requiring Spanish. This other half of the group was from another hotel(s) and it was not a Tui exclusive tour. Not a problem, but not what we were expecting either. The tour highlights for us were the palace gardens, and the tea stop by the Dingli cliffs. The palace gardens offered quiet and shade to wonder around some beautiful gardens, where we learned about some of the history of Malta. The tea stop tour, disgusted a “photo stop”, allowed some time to sample Maltese coffee (I never knew it was a thing until we came across this place) plus buying some local souvenirs at a great price too! Bonus. We then arrived at Mdina, and the larger size of the group, with the bilingual aspect of the tour, combined with the the narrow streets meant it was a little hard to follow the guide’s verbal ‘guiding’, but we were equally distracted with the baby at the same time too. We started at 0830 and were back at our hotel around 1345. A good length for those with young kids. Overall, a very positive experience!
