Ce qui vous attend
Sri Lankan culture, food, drink and markets make up this exclusive day out. You'll get involved with the locals and their daily life by helping to prepare food, seeing local crafts being made and drinking tea with a family.
After an early start, you'll reach Mahawewa in time to witness traditional pottery making before heading to see how coconut fibre, or coir, is made at the market. The local fair will be your next insight into life here, then walk over to the toddy tapping experience to see how a popular alcoholic drink is sourced and produced.
After a warm cup of Ceylon tea at a local's house, you'll roam around the market looking for fresh ingredients for later on. You'll see coconut husking before popping on an apron to help prepare three Sri Lankan curries that you'll dine on for lunch. Rounding off the tour, we visit a batik factory to see a traditional form of handmade fabric art that's been around for centuries.
