Saigon's street food scene is nothing short of a food-fans dream. What better way to make the most of your stay here – and stomach space – than having an in-the-know local show you some of the market's must-eats. Try dry squid porridge known as chao muc, a Cantonese-style barbecue pork and a sweet sponge cake with a strong cup of Saigonese coffee. Moving on for more magnificent eats, there's barbecue meatballs and rice cakes, deep-fried tofu with lemongrass or salted egg yolk with green chilli, all washed down with an ice-cold Saigon beer. You certainly won't go hungry here.
