What to expect
Enjoy a day full of beauty, discovery and fun with a private guide as you discover iconic sites of Paris: the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Ile-de-la-Cité.
Your private tour starts with a guided visit of the Louvre Museum featuring a massive art collection from the 18th-century paintings, through the Italian primitives, Renaissance paintings and European art pieces from the 16th and 17th centuries. You will see masterpieces such as the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and of course, the Mona Lisa. Your private guide will be able to customize the tour to your convenience.
After your visit to the Louvre, you'll take a break for lunch with or without your guide, and then head over to the Ile-de-la-Cité, home of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. The origins of Paris in the ancient times are at this very site, and your guide will show you the neighborhood here in the heart of the city. The richly carved facades of Notre-Dame will be commented, as well as the history of that gothic masterpiece leading up to the infamous fire that took place in April 2019, leading to the cathedral to be closed until further notice. Fortunately, the exterior architecture received little damage, and can still be admired from outside.
You will then stroll towards the Ile-Saint-Louis, the neighboring island. Its buildings, more recent, date from the 17th century and present a remarkable unity. The walk offers beautiful river and architectural views.
