What to expect
Meet your guide around 9.00 am at Monastiraki square, a can't-miss spot in the city of Athens.
First, you will visit the ancient Agora of Athens, which once served as the centre of political, commercial, administrative, and social life, as well as the religious and cultural hub and the seat of justice. Today, it remains one of the city’s most important archaeological sites.
After this, you will head to the heart of Modern Athens and sample local delicacies to truly immerse yourself in its vibrant culture. Visit Varvakios Agora (Athens Central Market). This is literally the Grand Central Station of food. Make no mistake; all shops are here, from celebrity chefs to neighborhood grocery store owners. Wander in the meat market and the fish market to get to know the riches of the Greek seas, buy fruits and vegetables and finally, pause at a renowned taverna to savour "tsipouro" or "ouzo" alongside pastrami, delicious sausages, and smoked pork from across Greece.
The tour will finish at around 1:00 pm as you head toward Syntagma square.
