What to expect

The markets of Melbourne's neighbourhoods are buzzing, colourful reflections of the city’s soul and this tour is a celebration of its diverse local foodie culture! Join this 3-hour walking tour to visit them and learn about the local gastronomic culture, as well as the history and culinary traditions unique to the city - and taste some delicious food along the way!

You’ll visit the market in the morning hours when crowds are thinner. This will give you the opportunity to interact with the vendors and gain rare insight into the history and development of the city. Melbourne's oldest markets are packed with stories. You'll have plenty of time to explore.

Depending on the day and guide you may find yourself in Footscray at the Vietnamese market, Coburg at the Middle Eastern market, South Melbourne for the predominantly Mediterranean Market or the famous Queen Victoria Market. Each has its own character, amazing food and eclectic style. You'll finish with a hot or cold beverage and then you'll be free to roam the market on your own for a little bit of shopping or ask your guide for some tips on how to spend the afternoon.
