Fantastic day out! Thomas our guide was so informative about Dominican Republic on our journey to the boat, we learnt lots. The speedboat was great fun and found whales straight away. The whales then put on an incredible show for us jumping and splashing up close, just incredible. Then onto barcardi island, gorgeous lunch, snorkelling and swimming at a stunning location, also had some stalls for souvenirs etc. A perfect day out.

We booked this experience via Felix, TUI Rep, it was definitely worth booking through him as he gave a lot of useful information, he told us how to access an early breakfast, how long the day would be, where we would be going and what we would need to take. It is a very long day (11 hours), the coach is comfy, guide Martin was really helpful, be aware the sea is quite choppy and its bouncy so think about sickness and any back conditions. Food was average. Experience was 5/5 wonderful creatures!

Great

The transport to the boat was awful. Despite it being a coach the leg room was non existent and having problems with my knees this was extremely painful. The boat for the trip was fast and everyone had a view. The whales took 40 mins to appear but it was well worth the wait, fantastic experience with mama whale breaching several times. Bacardi island was pretty but lunch was a let down. All in all the whales made it a fantastic day.

Great

TUI pile the buses and boats to the rafters. So if you are last off the bus you will be stuck in a middle seat on the boat with a dodgy view. Likewise if you are on the first pick up it's a long day. The trip itself is truly memorable and a bucket list tick. Less memorable were the 2 stops at the same gift shop on route. Supposedly for a toilet break, but there was clearly a side hustle

Really enjoyed the day and we’re lucky enough to see the whales. Food good although toilets leave a lot to be desired! Island is beautiful but lots of litter everywhere!

Great

We understand you can’t wild animals to perform but it would have been nicer to see more of the whales. It was a free for all on the boat with everyone getting in each other’s way.

Great

The tour guide Leo was brilliant, his knowledge and descriptions were great. The whale watching was amazing. I was shocked to see a portaloo with no tissue or hand wash / sanitiser as the only option when getting off the bus before getting on the boat though.

Saw whales what’s not to like, the Island was beautiful and your guide great.. What I would say is if you suffer from seasickness even a tiny bit don’t do it. I have never been seasick before but this was a hell of a day, never want to go on a boat again, ever!

Great

I think you really need to put an age range on this trip. We had and 8 month old baby with us and the boat ride in really choppy water was very frightening. There was no form of seat belts in the boat and I really don’t think that was suitable for such young babies

Excellent

The main point of this tour is to see the humpback whales and we got to see a family of them for the best part of an hour. Towards the end of our time there, we even got to see them leaping out of the water. Absolutely fantastic experience which we’ll both remember for some time. The trip to Bacardi Island was ok, but nothing spectacular. It was very busy with stacks of tourists, so didn’t have that feel of a paradise island. Food was ok. Worth paying the few dollars for the fresh piña colada. Overall, it was a long day (11 hours door to door), but well worth it, just to see the whales.

Daniel was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and extremely enthusiastic and entertaining. Managed to see three whales, 2 adults and a calf. Lunch on Bacardi Island beautiful setting but food could've been better.
